I bought a new TV book. It's called "Guide to TV" and it's from TV Guide. It's the first edition and lists all shows, not just primetime, like the other TV books I own. This gives just a brief paragraph for each show. Anyways, here's what the book said for Wings.(Remember, this is from the book. I'm not the author of this paragraph.)

**********************************************************
Sensible Joe Hackett and his fun-loving brother, Brian run a one-plane airline in this folksy ensemble sitcom. Their mutual friend (and on-again, off-again love interest for Joe) is Helen, who works the lunch counter while dreaming of being a cellist. Among their quirky coworkers: a dim-bulb maintenence man and Tony Shalhoub's Italian-immigrant cabbie. The series was produced by the same folks responsible for 'Cheers' and had a nice seven-year run.
**********************************************************

At least in this book they didn't compare it to Cheers, character for character, like the other one did.

I hate it when people refer to Wings as "Cheers 2". Both shows are great in their own way. Personally, I like the Wings gang better than the Cheers gang.

I do, too, although I'm not sure why, lol. I mean, the similarities are kind of obvious, and yet I never really got into "Cheers" they way I am with "Wings."
