At least they kept the post-season seven stuff to a minimum - I think the only way Ted McGinley should've been included if the "Jump The Shark" people would have presented him with a lifetime achievement award. But it was a sentimental reunion, so I guess it's just as well they didn't.

I must be one of the few who liked the last seasons. They weren't as good as the Ron Howard years but I thought the final years were way better then Laverne and Shirley's final seasons.

I thought they were okay at the time, but over time, those shows don't hold up to the first seven seasons, IMO. I was never as big a Laverne & Shirley fan and when they "jumped the shark" by moving to California en masse, it just totally went downhill, especially the final season without Shirley.

It kind of angers me when Gary Marshall says things like, "It was a timeless show," because it was set in the fifties. But the Joanie and Chachi music they showed was definitely seventies.

Actually, I liked the song. It reminded me of Bread (70's group). I wouldn't be surprised if David Gates (Bread singer) actually wrote it. He did a lot of musical stuff outside of Bread.

Erin Moran really got emotional when they showed it.

I love the later Seasons too.

One thing about many shows is that they run too long. I know the actors and everyone involved wanted to hold onto their jobs, but there comes a point when you have diminishing creative returns and you should just bow out before you become a parody of yourself.

Once the emphasis shifted to the younger generation, it was a different show. Perhaps they could have re-titled it Happy Days: The Next Degeneration-- I mean, "generation." :D

And by the way, Potsie's singing wasn't so hot either!!

Though I will say that Erin's '80s perm probably kept me watching - she was pretty hot back then. :cool:

Perhaps, but that episode where Potsie is singing about "Pumps Your blood," leading the college class in a singalong now gives me the creeps!! It made sense for him to sing when "the band" was playing at Arnold's, but that and the musical Valentine's Day episode are two of the worst episodes from the entire run.

I guess I didn't mind musicals back then - I can still watch Grease - but I guess my tastes have changed.

Your not the only one. I seem to like the later season's better too. Don't get me wrong I mean I like the ones with Richie and Ralph, but I like the later ones a little better.
