I liked it. ckrtom 02-04-2005, 03:07 PM Marion is a still a sweetie-- Ron and Tom look "meaner" as they get older (heavy brows/wrinkles)-- Erin is a sweetie-- Scott seemed VERY uncomfortable generally-- Henry Winkler is really kind of nerdy in contrast to the Fonz-- Looking back, the episodes were too "SEXY" for the 1950s, even 1960s (they were reflecting the prevailing 1970s and 1980s attitudes). This is one of my pet peeves; they were getting feathered hair too (too 1980ish)... --It was neat to find out what "JUMP THE SHARK" meant and where it originated. Overall, I say the reunion was great, very nice to all get together like that!!! :p jameslubbockfan 02-04-2005, 04:59 PM I agree, it is a great reunion. In fact about the hairstyles, who can forget Roger Phillips' hairdo? Or Chachi's hairdo that looked like Steve Perry's from Journey? Also, the baseball game was good. You got to see Lori Beth, Roger, Jenny Piccolo, Fonzie's wife in the later run, and also Carmine, Laverne and Shirley playing with the guys was a great surprise. Too bad Al Molinaro didn't attend. Some say he was ill to come. What's the truth behind that? But, on a good note, the 2 Chucks finally came, along with Mr. Miyagi himself, Pat Morita. Man, he looks better! I even recorded this reunion. I'll keep this forever. spunkygirl 02-04-2005, 08:25 PM http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=2323603#post2323603 There's already a reunion thread skunce65 02-04-2005, 11:12 PM I enjoyed the reunion. It was wonderful seeing the cast again after all these years and even seeing Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall and Eddie Mecca (I loved the Laverne & Shirley reunion, too). I am a little disappointed that everyone was mentioned (Pinky, Leather, the two Chucks), but Cousin K.C., played by Crystal Bernard, who had come to live with the C's and hung out with Joanie and Jenny. miketv2 02-05-2005, 03:42 AM No TV show is every going to please everyone 100%. Why some of you have to nit pick is beyond me. The Happy Days Reunion was warm and heartfelt...full of wonderful memories. The baseball highlights were probably 3 minutes of the entire special yet some of you complained that it was too much. I found it interesting considering the Happy Days softball team was such an important part of the show's history and had so much personal meaning to the cast. And one of you goes on and on about the special feeling scripted and contrived. I don't know what show you were watching but the show I watched felt very genuine and from the heart. You have a right to your opinion but are you just the kind of people that always have to complain about something? 20 million viewers have spoken...this special was amazing!! mstewart 02-05-2005, 12:11 PM No TV show is every going to please everyone 100%. Thank you for a very well said thread. I thought the Happy Days reunion was a very well done special. I was moved by it. I was not a big Happy Days fan during its original run. It was good to see the entire main cast together even though it was reports that Erin Moran had some challenges to deal with after the series ended. Hey she was there and we should be happy that she came. She nearly teared up when they showed her and Scott singing the theme song to their spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi. Looking at Tom Bosley and Marion Ross together again was great. They definitely had true chemistry together as husband and wife. They looked as though they could be married in real life. I love their relationship in the show and it was so cute to hear them talking about getting frisky. With reunions we should not expect things to go back the same because people and times change. Take the Dick Van Dyke Show reunion, for instance, was not the best written reunion but it was great seeing Dick, Mary, Rose, Carl, Larry and Ann together. That's the way I see TV reunion seeing old friends that was a part of my life back again. I am looking forward to the One Day At A Time reunion. I saw a picture of the cast and they all look wonderful especially MacKenzie Phillips. I did miss Al. I hope all is well with Al Molinaro. It was good seeing Ron Howard on there. He was truly the heart and soul of Happy Days. Let's lighten up on the complaints and be happy that this cast got together again. pilotguy 02-05-2005, 05:45 PM With reunions we should not expect things to go back the same because people and times change. It's sort of like a real-life high school class reunion....the guy who was the hunky football jock in high school shows up with a huge gut and three strands of hair combed over a bald head, while the cute little cheerleader shows up with wrinkles, a double chin and "thunder thighs"....but it's STILL fun to see them again and talk about old times. That's a nice attitude to have at a high school reunion, and it's one that we should keep in mind when watching these TV reunions! |
