Emmitt was a class act and one of my favorite football players. Its sad to see him retire but it was time and now its time to wait until he's called to Canton in 5 years.

I was wondering when he would finally give up football. Now if only we can get Jerry Rice & Tim Brown to retire soon LOL.

Emmit Smith was a great running back, but I would never call him the best. I can think of a few that were much better than he was at the position. Jim Brown, OJ Simpson, Walter Payton and Barry Sanders were all better running backs than Smith was in my opinion.

I agree. Terrell Davis could have been, but his career was too short.
