Okay, I never watched the show when it was first on TV, but I used to watch it as a child in re runs and on USA when I was a teenager.



People say it jumped the shark when...




Joey added= Nope. I loved his addition. Although he should have been added at the end of season 2. I don't like how he was added in like the 3rd episode of season 3. He should have been cast when the show returned for a 3rd season.


Death of the Chief= Yes! That really did it. It wasn't the same show anymore. Joey made the show better, by the family getting bigger by 1, but that was all. The Chief dying made the cast go back 1 person and it wasn't the same.


Move to NY= Um...I think season 5 was much better than the move. They really didn't need a move. But they wanted big changes, so I guess a move is what they had to live with. But I think it was clever, but not great. I really think this was the end. After the Chief died Nell kept the show alive, but after season 5 it was over.


Matthew= (Same as move to NY. Anything in Season 6 was not a big help).

The show wasn't really the same after the chief died but the move to NY just changed the show to much. I heard that NBC forced the producers to make major changes or else face cancelation, so I guess they had no choice but I would have rather the show end after the 5th season with the whole cast still together.
