I read somewhwere that in 1983 they were going to spin off Blair and Jo in their own show focusing on them in college but negotiations broke down. I think the plan for the parent show was to bring in a couple new girls as Eastland students as sort of a new class to keep the Eastland theme going.

Thank god they didnt do this. This wouldve killed both shows. I cant see all four of the girls being seperated. They gave the show it's chemistry that kept it alive for so long.

I heard that "the beginning of the end/beginning" was a tie into what was going to be a Facts of Life Spin-Off that feature's Blair's new job as Headmistress. Sherrie Krenn (Pippa) would've also been in the series also, but this show never came through.

There were alot of spin offs that didn't make it. From the episode Brain and Silvia they were going to be doing a spin off of that...and...I can't thank of the name of it, it might be Jo's cousin or something like that I'd have to look it up. That was going to be a spin off as well.

So was "Military School" and Natalie almost had her own show from the "Big Apple Blues" episode. It's weird how 2 episodes so close together were failed spin-offs.

I think the reason these spinoffs didn't fly is because the episodes/ pilots just weren't funny enough. Jo's family were irratating and the cast of Big Apple Blues were a bit annoying. I would of loved to see the finale spun off with Blair as headmistress. I think that one had potential. Also, weren't Stacey Q's and George Clooney's characters supposed to get a spinoff as well?
