View Full Version : Gomer Pyle USMC on DVD.
KillerCarter 02-02-2005, 12:38 PM Does anyone know who we all could get in touch with to try to get some company to release these on DVD.I am so surprised that it has not been published yet (with all the TV seasons coming out, some nobody watched). If we can find who would be responsible for the release,we could all write or email them until we get a date of when it will be out.Frankly, TVLand or any other TV station is going to cut them to pieces. We need them on DVD!!!!
Austin Tripper 02-05-2005, 08:04 AM Yes I totally agree! I helped get Three's Company , Freaks & Geeks on DVD. The best way is for us to find out who owns the show, what company... then lets find their email on their site.
Then get that email and post a little message & make a Signature on every message board you go on!! ALL your friends & you will write, and every topic your on, they will see that signature. With The Message of " Please Email to get Gomer on DVD: email adress"
Right now I am trying to get people to write for "Battle of the Network Stars: on dvd!
But I will also post this Gomer DVD email, if we/someone can find out.. who owns the show & or maybe writing Anchor Bay??? hmmmm???
 :) I am there with you! I love Gomer Pyle! That is the best TV show before I was born. It is the only TV I like that what made before I was born.
Colonel Hogan 03-18-2005, 05:22 AM I'd like to see this on DVD too. I'm pretty sure the show is owned by Paramount, but don't hold me to that.

Cheryl Harrell 12-29-2005, 09:22 AM Re-runs of Gomer come on ch. 3 in Norfolk, VA. It's on at 5 am Sunday mornings. Might be on that time on Saturday mornings, not sure. Can't get it anymore tho cuz we have Dish Network now & it's not a local station & with the new satellite installed you can't get regular channels off antenna like you did with the big dish. Hopefully someone can get it & be able to watch it...
mlingerfelt 01-01-2006, 03:00 PM any body know the date on the release.
BBatts 02-03-2006, 07:31 PM A release date or info of any kind would be nice...

magellan333 02-09-2006, 04:26 PM Can someone let us know something...I've been waiting patiently for quite some time. I'm ready for my GOMER FIX!!!!
Don't get too excited now. I waited for years to see "my old time favorite Gomer Pyle" and finally got to. It was not the show I remember and loved so much. It got on my nerves actually. I should have been contented with the fond memories.
treky 02-09-2006, 05:08 PM well, I used to watch it when it was on TV LAND, and it was the first time I had seen it in YEARS and it was just as funny as I'd remembered.
mlingerfelt 02-10-2006, 05:33 PM any word on the release date this show was very good. I would buy all 6 seasons.

I will admit that I did enjoy some of the black and white episodes, but being in the military myself, once the show went to color, it just got irritating. The same thing happened with MASH. I liked it before I was in the military, but later on found it irritating.
treky 02-11-2006, 03:25 AM I can understand that. I'll always remember the time my brother was home on leave from the navy, he was watching MASH with us once. It was the first time he ever saw it, and after Frank said something in one scene, he got up and said "So far, Frank's the closest of a 'typical officer' of any one else in this show". Then he walked out of the room.
And, he feels the same way as you about Gomer.
I watched Gomer Pyle on TV Land just a few short years ago and I still LOVED it!
It's LOL funny. Thought, the beginning episodes are better then the later ones (B/W vs Color). And, those ones where Gomer visits Washington DC and sings all over the place are not my favorites, but still.... :)
I'd buy all 6 seasons up front, too...without a doubt.
I AM getting frustrated with waiting, though. :(
mlingerfelt 02-25-2006, 07:57 PM any word yet.
any word yet.
*sigh* Nope, no word....yet
Well this sucks because I hate it when they say a show will be on dvd and it doesn't come they did this with Bosom Buddies, Family Ties, One Day at a Time, and now Gomer Pyle. This is just stupid:mad: :angryfire
mlingerfelt 03-21-2006, 10:18 PM they said it was on the watch list. I hope its not too long who is the company.

It's a website: ''tvshowsondvd.com'' On that site you can find out when certain shows are going to be released on DVD. Gomer Pyle USMC has been on that site's pending list for a long while now.
mlingerfelt 03-24-2006, 02:58 PM I wish they would hurry up and release this.
treky 03-24-2006, 03:31 PM yes; I know about that site. I meant I didn't understand your answer; because of the way you typed it.

Alright, seriously...we've been waiting for a long time. I get so mad when I see some of the sitcoms they've got on DVD..show's of a much lower quality then Gomer Pyle USMC.
In December I waited patiently for January 31, 2006. Then I hear it will be later...then later...now, I don't hear anything at all.
Where is this DVD?!?!

BBatts 04-17-2006, 04:12 PM Wasn't this DVD supposed to come out in Jan 06? This is crazy. I'm not sure what Paramount's problem is. You think they would come out with some kind of news letting the people know.

mlingerfelt 08-26-2006, 08:20 AM do you think this will sell good maybe they will release them pretty fast.
big bertha 09-07-2006, 11:25 PM I cannot believe it-finally!! But in order to get more seasons we must buy.
Hopefully Paramount will not pull a Happy Days on us Gomer fans. But I think it really helps if sales are good. I used to watch this when I was a kid-sometimes I would get to stay home from school and it always cheered me up. Having the flu was never so much fun!
treky 09-08-2006, 12:35 AM I remember when I was growing up in the 60s, I used to watch this show all the time, and I LOVED it! I'm so exited that this is FINNALLY coming to DVD!! Let's hope it sells well, and they realease the other seasons quickley!
omg65 09-11-2006, 01:39 PM I loved this show and am really happy the first season is being released.I'm hopeful they will release every season as there were only 5 anyway.I have every episode but the video quality isn't the best so I'm very happy about this.I wonder if TV land will be doing a Gomer Pyle marathon to kickoff the release of the first season?
treky 09-11-2006, 04:32 PM I never thought about that. I hope so; that'd be great!
YES! I'm late to the party, but thank God we have SOME sort of positive movement on this thing.
treky 10-21-2006, 12:04 AM just keep your fingers crossed that it happens; and they also release the rest of the series!!
mlingerfelt 12-23-2006, 01:29 AM just completed watching mine I am ready for S2 anybody know when that will be out.
just completed watching mine I am ready for S2 anybody know when that will be out.
I have the last CD in season 1 left to watch...i'm waiting to watch it so as to stretch out my Gomer viewing. I am SOOOO ready for Season 2.
Regarding season 1, I LOVE that episode of Gomer with the lady Sergeant. I love how he keeps bringing her flowers and complimenting her and holding doors for her until she eventually softens to him. I actually cried.
mlingerfelt 12-25-2006, 01:02 PM I liked the one with the Dragon lady I laughed.and also when Gomer had a date with the Colonels daughter. plus when he destroyed the bridge.
gilligan fanatic 12-28-2006, 11:31 AM Got mine for Christmas. Paramount did a great job on it. The presentation reel for the pilot was neat. Jim Nabors even sang a little bit in it.
