You're walking & shopping in the supermarket or department store & there's a great song on the pa system, you're singing along & then suddenly- "MANNY, TO THE REGISTER & CALL 944!!" (& then they repeat it so you can miss even *more* of the song) And after they hang the hell up, there's that slight delay in the pa to resume the music & by then, the coolest part(s) of the song are over.

if they didn't call someone up you'd be bitching when you got to the register and they couldn't help you.

OMG in wall*mart once they were doing that every minute, literally. It was pissing me off. I don't care about the music, but Jesus Christ shut the **** up.

Try working there, I guarantee you you'll take this statement back. You can't get any of those stupid CSM's to come over and help you and you have to stand there and listen to those butthole costumers complain about the wait and everything else. Walmart is the worst place I ever worked and it took me 4 years to be able to shop there again.

 Yep, I worked at a grocery store once, and that's the easiest way, would people rather the worker's holler for someone from the back part of the store?

That just happened to me recently! I was in TJ Maxx (not the grocery store, but a store) and some good song was playing. I can't remember the song but it was by a female singer. Well, RIGHT when a good part was playing in the song someone comes over the PA and announces something!

The one at wal-mart is annoying as hell, because you can't even understand what the hell they're saying. I hate PA systems.

All hail Target.

i hate walmart. i will never, ever go into that store.

The pharmacy techs at ours are ****ing rude. You stand there wanting some service, they look at you, and then they continue doing what they were. Ahem, customer. Get rid of the customer, and then go back to what you were doing. Of course, they can never find your prescription... I said screw it and took my prescription to Target.

So's ours, which is really ironic considering it's in a rich suburb.

And let's see, the building is about 6 years old, but it looks like it's been there 60. Yet the Target across the street still looks new, and it's been there 4 or 5.

I worked at a grocery store and my co-workers were CONSTANTLY on the intercom. We had advertising tapes so I really didn't care if they interrupted it. Some of the people were really loud though.

The guy on the tape would be like, "Do you know we have cookies that are so delicious,"DELI YOU HAVE A PHONE CALL ON LINE ONE, DELI LINE ONE!!!!" they're called exactly that...delicious cookies."

Yeah, customers would be listening to the guy yapping about delicious cookies and an employee would interrupt and get them all confused...

Then, my boss, Danny, would get on the intercom. We only had TWO lines, but he never could figure it out. He'd say, "Uhhhh, Meat-department you have a call on line...uhhhh, hold on...(shuffles papers) uhhhh, line one, NO, I mean line two...wait no...the one that's flashing."

Boy, I'm glad I don't work there anymore.

I too hate it when the music on the PA system gets interrupted.

Yup. I think we're the only 2 here who take our music listening more seriously....even in stores. :)
