Love this site and board.

I have been trying to recall the routine litany of old cronies that Luger would rattle off when he would start reminiscing about the "old days" (or complaing abot the new). Seems like it was about 4 names, something like: "Y'know, Barn, when me and XXXX and YYYYY and ZZZZZZ put our hands on our hearts and took that oath way back at the academy, little did we ever think theyre'd ever be a day when we'd be ______-ing a ______!" or the like.

In fact, eventually that old photo of 4 or 5 cops in Barney' s office came to be them, if I recall correctly.

Appreciate the help!

I think it was Foster, Kleiner and Brown. :)

And it was mentioned that Brownie did pass away in the nursing home where he lived since being debilitated (on the job ... i think) Been awhile.

Ever notice that every time Luger would go into a monologue about his cronies and the good old days, the other cops near him would silently slink away?? LOVED that!!

 Yeah they were probably thinking "Oh god  there he goes again!"

I think Barney started talking about his cronies in an episode after Luger's monologue. I'll have to find the episode.

 Ahhh, the ever clueless and out of touch Luger. James Gregory really did a great job with the character and he was also Ursus from Planet of the Apes!! Most of his scenes were with Maurice Evans (Bewitched), who played Dr. Zaius. When I first saw the movie, I was going, "It's Samantha's dad and Inspector Luger - together!!" God bless them both.

P.S. Love your signature..."Summer Breeze" has always been a favorite song of mine.

I remember thinking Inspector Luger was kind of creepy when I was little, but, the more I watched it, the more I grew to appreciate what he brought to the show.

P.S. Thanks, I love that song.

I remember one episode where (I think) Lugar was talking to Yemanna about World War II and Yemanna said he was in the Army and served in a Division that fought in Germany (apparently Japanese Americans fought in the European theater)....After hearing this a shocked Lugar said " You mean you were on our side?"

Does any one remember this, or at least the exact dialouge? It was hallarious.
