Guys,
If you have any Leave it to Beaver books or other references for this information, that'd be great! I was wondering how Tony and Jerry interacted with Barbara and Hugh off-set? (as well as with each other?) Did they really become a "less-formal" family off-set, or did the times of the 50's resort to the kids being very "prim and proper" to the adults on and off set? For example, I have often wondered if Jerry and Tony addressed Hugh Beaumont as "Hugh" or "Mr. Beaumont" in working with him on the set? My guess is that the latter address was probably the norm. Depending on the books you read, Jerry says that he got along great with everyone on the show. (I don't have these books, just what I have heard) Frank Bank (Lumpy) says in his book that there was tension between Jerry and Hugh at times. That it wasn't always acting. One post suggested that he/she remembered Jerry thinking at one time that Hugh was "too strict."
How did Jerry and Tony get along in real life as well?
