I don't remember too much about this album but i do remember the songs Uptown, Head, Partyup. Is the rest of this album any good Vashti1999? I remember my parents took this album away from me that their friend bought for me when i was a kid cause of the song Head LOL.

the entire album kicks butt. The album is only 30 minutes long, and the 8 songs mostly segue together (especially the second half). I like the whole album. "When You Were Mine" was very Cars-sounding, and Cyndi Lauper had a hit with a remake of the song years a few years later. The title track was also a great Prince single. Not a bad track on the entire album.

You know when I heard this album the very first time, I wasn't crazy about it. The sound of it felt sort of dull and tinny, like there wasn't a lot of instrumentation. It had a very sparse sound to it, I thought it was just mostly rough beats and I wanted it to be more musical. Needless to say, I liked it the more I listened to it. Definitely a landmark album in his career, especially compared to the first two.
