Ok, explain this to me. If jj lost 3,000 gambling, his father gave him 2,000 BEFORE he made the bet. If he bet 1,000 of his own and 2,000 of his fathers,he has the money to pay the bookie. Why would his father have to come up with another 3,000?
Ok , i know he sent the money to viet nam, but his father doesn't. So why doesn't his father say, I gave you 2,000, you added 1,000 of your own and bet it and lost. So now the 3,000 is gone. HIS FATHER DOES NOT have to come up with another 3,000 to cover the bet. I don't get it.

I do not think Jack is actually trying to come up with money for JJ to cover the bet, as in pay the bookie, but to cover the money JJ lost, as in allow him to buy a house.
