Anyone ever leave home (for however long) when they were a teen? I found out today that my cousin left home and is now living with her aunt. Her mother obviously said something really nasty to her and she just left. Of course, it's my cousin's fault (bull****). And I still don't understand how my uncle didn't realize it for 2 days...but anyway, whatever it was must have been really bad cuz she won't even talk about it. And what do I know about it...I was always happy at home.

Bah, that stuff sucks. I might be driven to that extreme if I lived with my dad...I ran out of the car once...long story...but I'm happy with the family I live with and relatives I see all the time. They're the only people I get along with.

Not long term. I've stormed out of the house many a times and told my mother I was taking a long walk. Then I went to my cool-down spot, calmed down, and returned 5 hours later without purposely answering my phone just to make her sweat.
Then there was the time I was furious at my parents and threw stuff at them and just walked out and my father chased me for 8 blocks. What an idiot.
If I run away, my mother will have every freaking cop on the force out looking for me. It's just not worth it. I'd rather just go up and lock myself in my room for a few hours.

One time I was staying in a special school in devon PA and me and a friend didnt like it so we took off 1 night... We hopped a bus to Baltimore (He wanted to see some family) and then we TRIED to hop a bus to SAN DIEGO but the driver saw us get on and she said "Get off this bus before I give you what you need" .. Finally we called the place we ran from and they came and got us......
The whole thing worked out good for me because my mom/dad came to get me.... The place said they didnt want me there anymore........ (I had done alot of bad stuff to try and get kicked out. I FEEL BAD FOR IT NOW.. I did make some friends on staff there)
Ah well.........

There were numerous times in my life that I contemplated hopping into my car and driving away, never to look back. But it was only a fantasy.
I'd rather face my problems head on instead of running away from them.

..yes and it's so sad for vulnerable individuals. We have a young guy at our church who bolts when under pressure; it's a symptom of autism. We have young girls on the streets who have been trafficked from Eastern Europe controlled by their pimps. I would have loathed feeling so trapped during my teenage years that I had to escape. There's often nowhere safely to go.
