Chapter 1- The Missing Guy
Fred, a bookstore owner was working in his bookstore all day. He put on his green coat, locked the glass door of his shop and walk down the side walk. For a busy city, the streets were strangely deserted. There was no one around either. Suddenly Fred heard an eerie sound. He turned around, but there was no one was behind him.
"Hello," he said. "Is anyone there?"
Fred turned around and continued walking. After a few minutes, he heard it again. Terrified, he ran as fast as he could to an alley only to find out it was a dead end. He turned around and saw a black shadow cover him. He screamed at the top of his lungs and the figure covered him yelling the words "Call International Rescue."
Lori Beth Creighton-Ward, Milwaukee's beautiful International rescue agent, sat in a booth with her chauffer0cum-butler Tom Parker in Arnold's drive-in. The city was full of people as usual, cars filled the streets. Lori Beth wore a pink cardigan sweater, a black skirt, a striped top, black pumps, white socks and a light orange scarf while Tom wore his chauffer uniform. They were listening to All Shook Up on the jukebox when Lori Beth spotted a friend waving at her. Lori Beth raised her right hand in greeting
"Hey, Lori Beth!" Her friend called out cheerfully. She was wearing a white T-shirt, a red polka dotted skirt, brown pumps, white socks and a yellow cardigan sweater. She was holding a few books under his right arm.
"Hey, Jennifer. What's up?" Lori Beth asked.
"You and Tom wanna help me learn my part for the upcoming play Mammy, May I?" Jennifer offered, showing the script to her friend and her friend's chauffer.
"No thanks, Jenny!" Tom rejected and smiled.
"Hey. I heard Mr Lawrence disappeared yesterday." Jennifer stated in a no nonsense tone. Jennifer and Tom had wired look on their faces.
"Mr Lawrence?" Tom asked, clueless about the person.
"Fred Lawrence, you know. Mikey's dad. The bookstore owner?"
"Oh. I see." Lori Beth lied. She was still wondering who this Lawrence guy was. For a woman who knew almost everybody in Milwaukee, it was likely that she knew him.
Jennifer's compowder started ringing. She took it out from his pocket and answered it. "Yeah? Okay... I'm on my way." She pressed the end key and put it back in her pocket. "Well, Lori Beth, Tom, I've gotta go." she said and left Arnold's.
"Bye, Jennifer." Lori Beth waved as she left.
"Bye, Jenny." Tom said as the booth they both sat in opened. Plunging, Lori Beth, Tom and the booth in a dark hole. Lori Beth screamed in shock as both she and Tom plunged in. After a few seconds, the concrete tiles closed back up as if nothing happened.
"Damn it, Mr T!!" Tom cursed as he and Lori Beth slid down the hole that lead him to International Rescue's base on Tracy Island.
Lori Beth and Tom landed hard on a black couch. A second later, four young men landed on top of Tom and Lori Beth.
Lori Beth pushed Richard Gordon Tracy a.k.a 'Richie' off her and said "Richard Gordon Tracy, get off me!"
"Hey, Lori Beth!" Warren Scott Tracy a.k.a 'Potsie' said with a sweet smile. He wore a blue sweater, a blue shirt and blue jeans. "Do you think Elvis Presley has the best singing voice?"
"No way," Ralph Virgil Tracy interrupted. He was in a white cardigan sweater with a red stripe, a blue stripe and a gray stripe, a red checked shirt and blue jeans. "Jerry Lee Lewis's voice is better!"
"Fat cahnce," Charles Alan Tracy a.k.a 'Chachi' told Ralph. He was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and an orange tank top. "Gene Vincent sings better than those two."
"You guys are wrong!" Richie argued and looked at Lori Beth sweetly. He wore a red sweater with a 'W' on the left side, a pink shirt, a black belt and blue jeans. "What do you think of Carl Perkins's voice, Lori Beth?"
"Uh... Sorry. I think that Roy Orbison's voice is better, guys." Lori Beth confessed.
"Hello, Lori Beth, Tom, boys." Howard Jefferson Tracy's voice greeted.
"Hey, Dad." The Tracy brothers answered and raises their hand in greeting.
"Hey, Mr Tracy." Lori Beth said.
"Hey, Mr T." Tom said.
"Now please pay attention, In Milwaukee, 50 people have been reported missing for the last 30 days. The police and FBI found nothing. So it's up to us to find out and hopefully put an end to this mess." Howard stated.
Joanie Kyrano and the others stood up and walked over to the moving walkway. Howard pressed a button on his desk and the walkway moved. The wall opened up and they enter the equipment room.
"Al." Howard cried out as Al's robot assistant GLADIS changed the gangs clothes to IR uniforms.
"Ice cream perfume that will freeze any item on contact." Howard spoke as a GLADIS passed the Ice cream perfume to Lori Beth and Joanie.
"Tom, you'll get the Scanner bio lab watch." GLADIS moved towards Tom's right wrist and 'screw' on the watch.
"Boys, these are your laser light sabers. Capable of cutting through thick walls and metals."
"And these are the keys to your Fonziebirds. I trust you to take care of them well." Howard requested and GLADIS puts the keys on the boys open hands.
"Don't worry. Those Fonziebirds are like friends. Only cold blooded." Tom looked at the keys. "Hey. Those keys are so cool."
Howard and Al sighed. It seemed that GLADIS had a mind of her own. "Well GLADIS knows what's best. Again." Al said.
The walkway lead them to and an open door and the roof opened. Fonziebirds 1, 2 and 3 took off right away as the gang laft Tracy Island and they flew into the city of Milwaukee.
A young woman slammed on the brakes of her cadillac but got tangled on a back of FONZ1. The passanger's door opened. The driver came out. Lori Beth too got out to inspect the damage.
"My cadillac," Lori Beth cried. "Tom, my dad's gonna kill me!"
"Your cadillac. How about my cadillac?! My folks are gonna kill me!?" the blonde haired driver cried out loud.
The girls look at each other and started to fight. The boys and Joanie got out of the Fonziebirds and sighed.
"You bitch! You wrecked my car." Lori Beth exclaimed angrily
"Yeah, well who asked you to park in the middle of the road in the first place?" the blonde argue.
"The lights are red, you dimwit!"
"Who are you calling a dimwit, loser?!"
"You want a piece of me?!?" Lori Beth snarled, showing her fists.
"Bring it on, Lady Lori Beth!"
"Grrrr!!" Both girls growled with their noses touching.
All of a sudden, the blonde stopped and glared at Potsie's looks. He notices it and the blonde ran towards him.
"Bunny Martell, International Rescue," Bunny said and takes out her IR card. "You mind if I ask you a few questions."
Potsie sweaterd and said "Oh man. I'm not gonna date you."
Bunny's jaw dropped and gave a very unhappy look. She looked at Potsie and sighed.
"What a cow." Lori Beth muttered to herself and crossed her arms.
"You have to excuse me. My folks say I'm a little wired sometimes." Bunny said.
"That's okay," Potsie said. "My name's Potsie Tracy," he introduced and shows his IR card. "These are my partners Ralph, Richie, Joanie and Chachi," he continued. The rest of the team smiled at Bunny. "You know what happened to Fred Lawrence last night?"
"Fred Lawrence. I'm on that case too. Maybe we can work together." Bunny suggested.
Ralph smiled and said "Sure. You know, Bunny, you're kinda cute"
"Thanks, Ralph." Bunny answered with a charming smile and blushed.
Everyone got back in their vechiles and left. Outside the bookstore, there were 2 Milwaukee Police Cruisers parked. Bunny and Tom parked by the store and the Fonziebirds landed stright away. They got out and together, they went inside the store.
"Hi, you must be the International Rescue agents here to help us. I'm Police Chief Catherine Charles." The African-American cop greeted and shook Lori Beth's hand.
"Hey. So what did you guys find?" Lori Beth asked.
"All right, gang, let's look for clues." Potsie said and the gang joined the officers who were looking around the store.
"There's no sign of a break in or bloodstains," Chief Charles discouraged them on searching. "Cash and books are still intact."
Bunny puts on a thinking look an looks around the store. All she saw was the books and shelves. Then she spotted something near the door.
"The coat rack seems empty." Bunny spotted and goes near it.
Chief Charles looks at the rack. "Hmm.. You're right."
"So he must have not been in the store when he got kidnapped." Richie thought.
"Now what? This is a big city. How are we gonna find clues?" Tom exclaimed.
"Hmm... this could be a clue." Joanie spotted something on the sidewalk. They looked down to find out it was a blob of dried green slime.
"Great find, Blue eyes," Chachi said and Joanie blushed. "But, eww... disgusting." he exclaimed
"And look. It's a trail and it's leading to that alley." Lori Beth spotted and pointed towards the alley.
The gang and Chief Charles followed the slime blog trail to an alley. There was nothing except a slime covered shoe.
"Oh my god. That's disgusting!" Lori Beth freaked. Tom knew she hated slime.
"I'm gonna go back to my car and barf." Chief Charles said and ran to her police cruiser.
"I think it's cool." Bunny stated. She activated his U-Watch and the Slime Scan appeared. She grabbed it and put a sample in the device.
"It says here that this slime is from a guy called the Candy Man." she said reading the monitor on the Slime Scan. It immediately disappeard from the palm of her hand.
"Check the Rouges Gallery, Bunny." Tom suggested.
Bunny activated her U-Watch and the Rouges Gallery appeared. He used his hand to navigate and searched "There it is. It says here that the Candy Man was discovered trying to smuggle counterfeit money to Lake Michigan during the early 50's. At that time it was said to be harmless."
"But why did it attack now?" Ralph looked at Bunny in the eye.
Bunny looked up and said "I don't know. But that's what we're gonna find out."
