This weekend, I was coming out of this store. I was getting into my car, and two dudes came up to me and asked if I could give them a ride to this gas station a few blocks away. Their car was out of gas, and they had a gasoline container. It has been cold as a mf up here the last couple of weeks. I wanted to help the dudes out, because that could have been me, but I didn't. I could not risk riding strangers around. They could have robbed me. Did I do the right thing?

Yes - they can walk the few blocks to get the gas. It was their own fault for not having enough gas in the tank anyway, assuming that is really what happened and they didn't make the whole thing up.

Yes you did the right thing. it's not a good idea to give rides to strangers, too many crazy people. it could have been a set-up to rob whoever gave them a ride.

Yes, you did the right thing. Today, in this world you have to be very careful. There was this time when me and my boyfriend were going to see one of my brothers' and we got lost so my boyfriend saw this man on the street and asked for directions. My boyfriend let this man into his car with us so he could show us where to go. Luckily (thank god) nothing happened but I was really mad at my boyfriend and told him to never do that again especially when I was with him. Even when he's alone; he should never let a total stranger into his car no matter what. :nonono:

That sounds like a scam in progress.
It doesn't take two guys to get gas.

I have an idea, why don't we both freeze our asses off to go get gas when one of us could easily stay with the car?

You were smart to say no.

I forgot to add that after they approached me and I turned them down, they went to ask a car parked in front of me and it looked like they were banging on that person's car when I drove off.

Sometimes people we don't know pose as if they going to no harm.
One of them could been hiding a gun or a knife also. If you suspect
anything suspicious.Don't even stop!,That's what they told people
in a local city near my town after a convience store clerk was robbed
and then killed in August 2004.
