“Why Teri is so Desperate”:

At home, virtually none of Teri’s precious time with Emerson
Is spent watching TV “The school she goes to discourages
too much television viewing, which is kind of cool. Sometimes
we move the table in front of the big fireplace and pretend to
ice-skate on the rug. It’s a hoot. “If guys saw me slipping
and sliding around they’d think: ‘Her? A sex symbol? You
gotta be kidding!’ “But who knows? Maybe there’ll be someone
along soon who thinks it’s kind of cool and likes to hang out
with me and my daughter. “But if he’s got marriage on
his mind, he’d better think again. Marriage is one thing
I’m sure not desperate for.”

the actors, so much as an idea. We make icons out of
mothers and housewives, but my desire was to look at
aspects of suburbia and the quiet desperation going on at
its core.”

The show is hunky Jamie Denton’s first big break. He plays
Mike the plumber who becomes Teri’s love interest with a
