The title says it all.Would you or would you not be interested in what people had to say about you? Would you go online and chat to your fans through message boards? I think the hardest task would be having people believe you really are that person. What do you reckon?

I'm sure at the beginning I would be curious as to what people had to say about me but after many years of being famous I probably wouldn't care as much. Besides I would probably be too busy making movies or whatever and wouldn't have time to visit message boards.

I don't doubt for a minute that celebrities visit sites to read about themselves. It's only natural to want to read about yourself. This is particulary true for actors who were on a show years ago and whose careers stalled after that.

Yeah, curiosity would kill my cat... I'd definitely sit there like an online junkie 24/7 and read all the posts.

Nice avatar.

I probably would, it would make me curious and I'd like to talk to my fans. I wouldnt just go out to random boards and do that though, it would have to be my official board.

Well, my friend Jamie Dailey (DL&Q are very famous in the bluegrass world) posts on DL&Q's messgae at least once every month...but he's very busy so sometimes he doesn't post as often...

If I were a HUGE celeb like in Hollywood, I would probably read some but not post a lot b/c like someone said, some people wouldn't believe it's you....

I once asked an ethical question on a celebrity's website, the celebrity read it, made a comment or reply, and the fans were rather nasty about what I had posted. It wasn't really anything mean, I just asked a question about something, and because the celebrity knew that her/his fans would react in a certain got them to flame my question. :D

I know some celebs lurk or use fake names to go online and talk to fans.

I would, though probably under a disguise...alot of celebrities do post publicly on their m/b's. I always have more respect for those who take time out to see what there fans have to say.

Heck yeah. I'd be interested into what everyone thought me and stuff. I think I would have a hard time posting because everyone would have a hard time believing you.

I post at Hanson's official messageboard all the time and the guys come on occasionally to post and talk to us. It's pretty cool!

Sure, I would. If I were an actress, I wouldn't want to be all that famous anyway, so I'd hang with my fans on a MB.

when celebrities post on their own boards the administrator usually sets up something in their account that regular members can't do, like making their name appear in a different color.

I would.

Christina Aguilera used to post once in awhile at the liveDaily forums. I think Mariah and Mandy Moore still have daily messages in their official boards.

I know on Facebook and pretty sure it was him but I made a comment of a picture of the actress who played the younger sister of Molly on the sitcom Mike & Molly and said something along the lines that she is gorgeous or fine or whatever I said and got a “thumbs up” from (a) Billy Gardell who played Mike and is now the lead actor on Bob and Abishola. I don’t really doubt it’s actually him. I mean, famous people also do Facebook.

There was another post about the show Ozark and I went to comment that I really liked the series a lot (and I did) except that there was way too much of the “f-word”. I made a joke about how ridiculous it was “I’m going to the f’ing store, then f’ing coming back, cook some motherf’ing dinner then off the f’ing casino if my f’ing care doesn’t f’ing break down.” I mentioned that I don’t mind the so called “f-word” but it was ridiculous here, and this show employed the word much more than The Sopranos.

Someone claiming to be Jason Bateman up thumbed me for the comment. I like to think it was him and he agreed with me about what I said. I am not against swearing or the “f-word” but it was so used here it was comical.

So more than likely celebrities do look at projects they did or going to do and gauge opinions. We the viewer are paying them the big bucks, especially now with subscription services. Plus in the end they are just people who like or hate Facebook like anyone else
