Since the Super Bowl is in town, they have these "NFL Experience" thing, where it's like a whole "amusement park" of football (and other) stuff. Well, Diana DeGarmo is going to work with these cheerleaders in one of the areas, and I'm going to go, so hopefully I'll get to meet her again! Wish me luck!! Hopefully if I do, I'll be able to get a picture this time.

This was written yesterday:

Today was GREAT!! The Super Bowl is in town, and there's this thing called the "NFL Experience", which is like an amusement park of everything football. Well, I read somewhere that Diana was going to be there, so I went!! She was going to be there from 3-5 PM, and I arrived there at 3:30 PM, so I wasn't toooo late.

She was going to be at the "Clinic Field", talking to cheerleaders and stuff. I went there and saw like 300 cheerleaders, but I couldn't find Diana, until she went on stage and had a talk with one group of cheerleaders. It was in a medium-sized area, and it was fenced [not to the point where it blocks your view... it was like 3 ft tall], and if you weren't a cheerleader that paid money to be in there, you couldnt go in... so I had to get pictures standing outside the fence.

There were 4 groups of them [the area was a square, so for each group she talked to, she went to a different side]. After her "talk", she went offstage for a while, and I went to the fence behind her and she signed some autographs and stuff. I didn't want to sound obnoxious so I just waited for her to come.

When I thought she was coming my direction, I said "DIANA!" and she just waved to me and my brother, because some news anchor guy had to get a picture with her, but she didn't forget about us!! She came right away!! I gave her a hug, and she looks taller than I remember from meeting her back in August .. hmm. Well anyways, I gave her a letter I wrote, and I let her sign the "Blue Skies" booklet and my brother let her sign a gloss picture from the concert. She was reeeeeeeally nice and I told her that she's a great singer and that her CD was awesome. She was really greatful too!

A lot of people were trying to get her autograph.. i mean A LOT, so it wasn't like going backstage at the Idol Concert where it was only about 20 people and you knew you had the time to chat with them... she had to move on to other people, so I let her do that! Little girls were so happy to meet her, and get this... there was this couple who had no idea who she was, but after she sang the chorus of "Emotional" on stage [someone asked her to], they asked me "what's her last name", and I said "degarmo", and the husband wrote it down and said "im buying her album, she seems like a good role model for my daughter"! Yay!

Well... after that, she went to the 2nd corner of the "square", and talked with the 2nd group of cheerleaders. She first introduced herself and described her Idol experience... it went something like "I traveled all the way to Hawaii to audition for American Idol 3, and I somehow made it to the top 12, and each week I just thought, I'm here to have fun, there were weeks where I thought I was going home, it didnt matter what Simon had to say about my clothing or age, because I made second place, and that was an accomplishment" [yeah I heard her say this 3 times, so this is pretty accurate]. Then she had Q&A with the audience. Coincidence, yes... but in all three interviews I watched, the first girl asked "Can you sing for us", and she sang the chorus of "Emotional", and got a great reaction after each one! Then she talked about pursuing your dreams, and asked them if they had any cheers they wanna show... so this girl got up and danced. Diana was doing her little dance along with them. It was cool =].

After that talk, she signed more autographs on the other side. She couldn't get to everyone though, because her body/security gaurds, and this other girl kept calling her back for the more important pictures with the local news and the newspaper people. And, she also had to be told what to do next by the "head" of the event. Some people were disappointed that they didn't get autographs, but I just told them that "she'll be back". And sure enough she was!! I let them get autographs, and then I just said hey to her again, and she smiled [that smile of hers where she wrinkles her nose and closes her eyes... the "cute smile"].

She went to the 3rd section of the square, and had another Q/A with the audience. She sang again [because the first girl asked her to], and then talked more. Someone asked her if she keeps in touch with the other idols.. and she had a pretty in depth review of them now. Here's what she said [I have a pretty good memory ;)] "... she said something about "the football player Matt Rogers" (as she described it), but I couldn't hear what she said. Amy Adams "the girl with the pink hair" actually has a baby. The two Johns have record deals, I had a record deal and made an album, Fantasia's doing well, and Jasmine is doing a lot of stuff in the Philippines".

After that 3rd section, she only had time to sign 3 more people's stuff, then she literally disappeared. I was trying to go find her somewhere, but ... failed.

And.. the 4th section... she never got to. I'm assuming that was the section I missed in the beginning, when I came late.

But.. about 20 minutes after the 3rd section, they were handing out these mini-posters with Diana on one end, and 3 other people [a local news anchor, a cheerleader, and a race car driver].. but only the freakin cheerleaders in the audience got them.. BOO. The four of them were behind a table ready to sign autographs, and the announcer said "okay, they are behind the black table, so go and get your card signed!", and all the 300+ girls RAN straight there.. even though there were only 4 people on the card, there were 6 people behind the table.. the extra 2 people were cheerleaders. Diana was in the center though, and everyone was trying to get to the center!! They didn't care about getting the local news anchor's autograph, they wanted Diana! :lol: The girls were all really rough and pushy and Diana along with all of them had to tell them to back up. The table was always on the verge of falling on them, and then Diana's bodygaurds had to get her out.

Being the obsessed fan that I am, I followed them. Diana had a friend with her too, and she had like 5 bodygaurds, 3 in blue and 2 in red. When she was walking out with all of them, people walking in the opposite direction, all looked back in shock when they passed by :haha: It was cool!! And one guy was like "was that JoJo?" hahaha. But.. she left in the "exclusive parking" area, in this white van. And that was the end of that =]!!

She's coming back next Saturday, and even though I've already met her twice, a third time wouldn't hurt!! This time though, I really want to bring my friend, who didn't get to meet her today. But if you're reading Diana... thanks SOOO MUCH!!! =] =]

I took a lot of video as well.. but I don't know how to "share" them. So, I'll wait till I learn, to show them. But I'm going to see her next Saturday at the same place, so if you all have any letters or graphics or anything you want me to give to Diana, just post!! And hopefully I'll get the chance to give it to her.

You are SO lucky! I'm so jealous of you, lol. I'm glad you got to meet her though! Ugh I wanna meet someone from AI. The closest I ever got was watching JPL run by me during the AI concert.

Nope :( I didn't really have that much time to talk to her. I'll try to ask her if I see her again. Hopefully. :)
