Of both series, AITF and ABP, which was the highest watched of the whole series, and this includes its Nielson Ratings. Was it ABP's Archie Alone, AITF's Sammys Visit or AITF's Edith's 50th Birthday. If someone could tell me, I'd like to know. I'm sure each one had over 50 million people with each having at least a Nielson Rating of 34 or more.

I don't know what the highest rated episode is, but I'm guessing it was the episode with Sammy Davis Jr.

I think Edith's Rape episode probably was higher since it was a two-parter

Actually, I think that the highest was the season finale where Gloria and Mike move to California. "Empty Nest" I believe.

I do know Edith's Rape got more viewers than Mike and Gloria's last show as regulars. Both shows were from season 8, and according to E's True Hollywood Story of AITF, Edith's Rape was the highest watched for that season.

According to The Book of Lists, which was first published in May 1977, the highest-rated ep of AITF ever was "Edith's Problem" (menopause), which got a rating of 40.7 on Jan. 8, 1972. It's unlikely that this rating was ever topped, since the average rating of AITF in the last two seasons was 24.4 (tied for fourth for the season) in 1977-78 and 24.9 (tied for ninth) in 1978-79. ABP never averaged higher than its 22.9 for 1979-80. "Edith's Problem" also won an Emmy for Best Writing in a Comedy Series in 1972.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any other Nielson Ratings for any other AITF episodes? I would think the one with Edith thinking she had a lump on her breast would have a high rating itself. Do you know the Nielson Rating for The Beverly Hillbillies one where Grannie boxes the kangaroo? I heard that was the highest 30 minute episode of all time.

I'd guess the Sammy Davis Jr. episode.
"Mr. Davis, do you take cream and sugar in your eye?"
