Tonight:

DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE--Marni (Jennifer Finnigan) tells Nate (Josh Cooke) the night before that her birthday is the next day. She tells him not to get her anything, but after he sees all the amazing gifts she received from all of her friends, Nate succumbs to the pressure of trying to top them. Todd (guest star, RonReaco Lee) returns to give Nate a little suprise of his own. Elsewhere, Tess (Tammy Lynn Michaels) accidentally drops the brand new iPod Marni had given her down the trash chute. Darius McCrary and Tom Poston also star.

Much better than last week, but that's not saying much.

I'm starting to lose interest in this show. I saw a lot of potential in the first episodes, but it's yet to be realized. Todd returning again had its moments, but I love the scene on the rooftop when the burglar suddenly jumps into view and runs off. It's such a random moment, and I've been waiting for it since they showed it in the original preview commercials.

I found this episode really funny. I may be alone, but I see alot of potential in this show.

A good episode. Having Todd around brings out the worst, and best, in Nate. But it will get old and, now that Todd has proclaimed his love for Marni, where can it go? Giving the supporting characters more to do is key, I think.

what would you like to see more of in the show? how would you change it, if you could?

Well, obviously it'd help if it were a bit funnier and better-written.

Nate & Marni's relationship is moving too quickly. In only the first six episodes, they've met, had a first date, become boy/girlfriend, had sex, said "I love you," etc. Pretty soon there won't be any further steps for them to take, other than moving in together, getting married or having a baby.

And it's not just that it's going a little fast, but that we haven't actually explored the depths of their relationship, i.e. why they're so in love with each other. We've been told they're in love, but we haven't really seen it. Maybe if the two leads had good chemistry together, it'd be easier to do that.

The supporting characters add nothing. The only thing that saves Tess is that she's played by Tammy Lynn Michaels, who is awesome. But Bowie is just there and Clown is so underused it's pathetic. Beef up their roles, mix them up with the main characters in storylines (pretty much every episode has a lead Nate/Marni storyline and one or two of the supporting characters in their own story), etc.

But I'm being a little nitpicky about it. It's an enjoyable show, I'll keep watching, but there's a few things about it that, from my POV, could be changed/improved.
