I hate the Eagles that's why-lol Brian Damage 01-24-2005, 12:16 AM Hey Solomon, were you watching the Bravo channel during this game? TVFactFan 01-24-2005, 12:18 AM Hey Solomon, were you watching the Bravo channel during this game? I was watching MTV Janice 01-24-2005, 12:33 AM I hate the Eagles that's why-lol Why? Brian Damage 01-24-2005, 09:28 AM I don't remember exactly, but whenever the Eagles are winning a game, he can't stand to watch. I have to admit, for years I was the same way. Whenever the Yankees were playing a big game, I would turn on Nick at Nite. It was like a superstition. GARFIELDKOOL 01-24-2005, 12:16 PM The Eagles are good enough to win it all, but I think the Patriots will be too much for them. TVShowAnalyzer, why do you hate the Eagles so much? TVFactFan 01-24-2005, 01:20 PM The Eagles are good enough to win it all, but I think the Patriots will be too much for them. TVShowAnalyzer, why do you hate the Eagles so much? I grew up hating the Eagles, i liked the Giants and hated the Eagles since 1987. Ok, i always disliked the Eagles but when they became a winning team I started hating them. It seemed like it happened overnight. One minute they were 3-13 in 1998 and then they hire Andy Reid and you know the rest. Janice 01-24-2005, 01:50 PM Whenever the Yankees were playing a big game, I would turn on Nick at Nite. It was like a superstition. My superstition is not posting while the games are on. During the World Series or Patriot's playoff games, I can't post while the game's in progress. I was the same way with the Election thread on Election night. I don't post until things are over. As if my posting will jinx anything. Janice 01-24-2005, 02:01 PM I grew up hating the Eagles, i liked the Giants and hated the Eagles since 1987. Because I was a fan of the Giants. It used to be dislike but when the Eagles starting knocking on the door of the SB i started HATING them. GARFIELDKOOL 01-24-2005, 03:47 PM I just wondered since you live in Philly, why you hated them so much. My team is the Redskins, but I live in upstate New York where the Bills rule. I hate the Bills. They went to four staight superbowls and lost them all. The Bills stand for Boy I Love Losing Superbowls Brian 01-24-2005, 09:45 PM Why? Probably the same reason I don't like the Yankees. Both teams win but are arrogant, spend too much and are overachievers. Brian Damage 01-25-2005, 12:00 PM I'd like to know how the Yankees are arrogant? What arrogant things have they ever done? Nothing comes to mind. Brian 01-25-2005, 08:31 PM I'd like to know how the Yankees are arrogant? What arrogant things have they ever done? Nothing comes to mind. It's not so much the Yankees PLAYERS. They don't bother me so much. It's George Steinbrenner and the upper management. They didn't spend too much this year (and I commend them for that) but now the Red Sox, Diamondbacks, and Mets are going hog-wild in the free-agent market. I wouldn't even like it if the Padres had not stood pat and went on getting all these free agents like Beltran and others. I should have clarified that when I mention a team, it doesn't necessarily mean I am referring to the players only. The Yankee players I can stomach because they are good when they win. It's the upper-management that gets on my nerves. When I said arrogant, I must have been thinking about last year's ALCS. From what I saw, and I'm sure there are others who saw it differently, it seemed like after Game 3, they took it for granted. But the people who I think were arrogant the most were those in the upper system who got all these star players but didn't get to the World Series. Don't get me wrong, I would be saying this about the Padres if they spent a lot of money for people like Beltran, Delgado, Randy Johnson, etc. They couldn't, anyway, because of the payroll. I just think that you can't buy World Championships. By "buy" I mean, getting star players. Brian Damage 01-25-2005, 11:42 PM I see what you're saying. Although for us Yankee fans, it is great to have an owner that would rather spend money on the team, than put the money into his pocket. The Yankees are a money making machine. They average over 3 million fans a year, they have their own network and they play in the #1 media market in the world. Steinbrenner could easily just take that money and put it into his bank account. However, he takes that money and tries to better his team to win a championship. Teams like your Padres don't have the money the Yankees generate, but keep in mind, your owner is a billionaire. He is not starving for money. He could reach a little deeper into his pockets if he really wanted to. Instead, most owners look at the bottom line more than winning a championship. |
