Here's a list of characters who I would like to know HOW they came on the show, relations to original/current characters, and why they came.

Allison

Carlene (I thought it was just Marlene, Harlene, and Darlene?)

B.J.

Kiki

Allison and Carlene came because Suzanne and Charlene wants them to take their places...Allison was Suzanne's cousin, and Carlene was Charlene's sister.

Who is BJ? Is there any story why Suzanne and Charlene left? Not Jean and Delta, neccasarily(sp?) Didn't Allison try to buy all the shares, or take over or something? What's BJ's story?

They met BJ by redoing her house after her husband died (after Allison left the show), but the women ended up drunk and gambling with BJ, so Julia put up Sugarbaker's and BJ won. BJ felt bad or whatever, so she let Julia win it back. After that, Julia just needed another partner, so she hired BJ.

Allison came because she was said to be good around money and buisness. She invested her money to keep Sugarbaker's from bankrupt. After one year she pulled it out, leaving Sugarbaker's in a bad mess.

Suzanne was the one who went on to Congress or whatever in Women of the House.

Charlene left because she decided she was missing too much of Olivia's life, but she left her little sister, Carlene, in charge of her share of Sugarbaker's.

Kiki was the wife of Mr. Kearney. In the last episode, the women have money problems, so they were happy to find out BJ had gotten them a job. Mr. Kearney wanted to take over the buisness if they didn't finish the job or whatever and give it to his wife, Kiki, to rename it Kikibaker's.

The original explanation for Suzanne's departure was that she had moved to Japan to live with her mother Perky, because they had a very large population of rich elderly gentlemen over there, and Suzanne had already dated all the ones around Atlanta (I'm not kidding - Julia said this). The move to Congress was never mentioned on "Designing Women", only on the spinoff.

Charlene mentioned on an early episode that her sisters were named Darlene, Sharlene, and Marlene. There was no Carlene mentioned until Carlene actually showed up.

Uh-oh, now there's a spin-off to Designing Women? Not just to Golden Girls? What's it called?

No, there's not a spin-off to DW....we're just talking about the 6th and 7th seasons. And no, Carlene was NOT mentioned in the family episode, she just kind of "popped out of thin air." Allison was Julia's and Suzanne's cousin in from NY who bought Suzanne's share while Suzanne went to Japan to live with her mother and BJ they met while redoing her house and they needed money and she had it so she became a partner for money reasons.

I was thinking that in order to get it back on, we should write to Lifetime to complain! Just like in its original run when it got taken off for a hiatus but all of the fans wrote in and saved it!! we need all the help we can get!! every letter counts! please! write in to Lifetime and voice your thought about them replacing it with Mad About You! write to: Lifetime Entertainment Services, 309 W. 49th Street, New York, NY 10019!
