That's understandable, I've met Kirk Hammett twice, 1st time he was a total a$$, second time, a totally different Kirk. That might be because he was getting ready to go into a strip club that night with Lars, and he was razzed about that!!:D

believe me, i didn't want to believe that one of my heroes could be such a jerk to people, but my wife used to work for a radio station and had met him a few times and complained about how he acted and treated people and while I never met him, I did finally get to see him in action so I HAD to accept it.

...another great guitarist i was really surprised to see being a complete jerk to people (a couple of really big fans that just wanted to shake his hand) was Jimmy Page.

Nothing blows more than when somebody you had admired for so long turns out to be a jerk. No matter how awesome they are musically, if I had met them, I look at them a different way after that, depending whether it was a good or bad meeting experience.

That's exactly how I feel. I was at a Hall & Oates concert in 2002 and there were about 10-15 fans outside near the bus, wanting autographs. Daryl Hall just ignored the fans and got on the bus. These stars wouldn't be where they are if not for the fans...and even though I still like their music, I always remember that incident. It's a shame, really. :(
