NBC decided the show was not good enough so they canclled it. On stations like NBC, ABC, CBS, tv shows are usually shown at the same time on all the affilated(spelling) station of that network. If a tv show comes on at 8pm on CBS all the tv stations that are affilated with CBS the show will come on at 8pm

That is incase you didn't know that, if you did I applogige for repeating what you already knew.

Syndication, means any tv station can pick up a tv show new or old and play it at any given time they want to. There is no set time that it has to be shown.

Alot of times if a tv show is been shown in reruns usually not always the case, one tv station owns the rights for a time period, meaning they sign a contract to own the rights to show it for say weeks, months or even years, once the contract runs out others can put in a bid for it to show it.

Other cases are that more than one tv station can show reruns of a tv show.

I always thought there had to be 100 episodes of a tv show before it can be released on syndication and run as reruns, but I was wrong on that. Yes, Dear tv sitcome that ended in 2004 only had 99 epsidoes. I always did like that show don't know why they cancelled it.

Seems like all the shows I like they cancell them before giving them a chance. Thank God for syndication for running reruns.

I am sorry but I forgot to add this, someone thought that Mama's Family was good enough to keep doing(Joe Hamilton God Rest His Soul),but didn't think ABC, CBS, or FOX would pick it up so he decided to send it to syndication where any tv station if they wanted could show it at any given time, that giving the show more of a chance of surviving.

In this case it did last until 1990 when Vicki Lawarance decided not to do more seasons because she felt bad about Joe Hamiltion health. A year later in May Joe Hamilton died of cancer due to the fact that he smoked even up to his death.
Even when he was ill and had a tumor removed from part of his forehead and wore a paper towel over it to hide the hole in his head he keep smoking like 2 packs or more a day.

I used to be like that go through 3 packs in like 30 hours, but I cut back to a pack every 2 days now I am trying to quit for good, hopeflly I can quit and didn't do any damage to me.
