"Second Time Around" was recently on in reruns and it reminded me of something I'd heard, about how Candi was intended to be Frasier's recurring love interest and Lilith the one-shot throwaway date, rather than the other way around. Am I imagining this? And was there any truth to it?

I never heard anything about Candi being his recurring love interest, but I did find this on TV Tome:

No way should Lilith have only appeared in that one little scene. She was too good a character to waste for just five minutes.

You might be right... I've just never heard anything about it. I'm also glad they decided to keep Lilith more than one episode-- If Candi would have been a recurring character, she would have probably gotten on my nerves after a couple episodes.

Maybe that's why they changed plans. She wasn't as dynamic a character as Lilith.

I've heard that somewhere. Can't remember where, or when.. but it sounds familiar.

Candi would have been unbelievably annoying, and just.. not for Frasier. He would have gotten bored with her way before we did.

That's the first I ever heard of that. Of course, in that episode, they did leave open the possibility that Candi would return.

I may have imagined it. It's like The Forgotten, and only I seem to remember. (I saw that movie last night, by the way, and it creeped the hell out of me)
