I've seen this episode a couple of times, lastly about a year and a half ago. It still freaks me out. I dont know many details of the crime, but I remember that there was a business man (maybe in the south?) who feared for his life. He was getting threatning phone calls and went to his ex wife's residence to hide out. Eventually he left and was found in a burned car. He was found with a gun at his feet and a hole in his head. I believe the case was ruled a suicide, but it seemed pretty apparent that he was murdered. Anyone have any info on this?

this case sounds familiar, this was one of the newer Lifetime segments, right?

It aired on NBC during the 1992-93 season. He was a Texas business man. I believe his last name was Bailey, but I'm not entirely certain. Nevertheless, it was another one of those "suicide or murder?" cases. But some believe that the business man faked his death. His burned car was discovered in November of 1985.

I'm now starting to believe that his last name was Baker.

Yes, it was Baker. It was said that once he hit it big, he bought a expensive car, took disco lessons and had 2 face lifts. I thought it was an odd and funny thing to mention in the segment.
