I know of at least one other person besides myself whose PM box was spammed by 'calling from villaran'. The spammer claims that she was the widow to the former finance minister of the Phillipines and that she had inherited 12 million dollars and something about wanting help her to transfer a trunk of money to the U. S. :lol:

that "spam" is actually an illegal "phishing" scam, i have heard stories where they have bilked thousands of dollars out of naive individuals trying to cash in on some "easy money". Please don't respond to it or give them ANY of your personal information.

there is actually a website where you can report these to the FBI - I'll see if I can find it later....

scams like this need to be reported to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at http://www.ic3.gov/

it seems ridiculous that something so completely idiotic could FOOL anyone into giving away their money, but scammers are ALWAYS cooking up new schemes to fool people.
