hey Everyone! What do you think are some scenes in "A Diiferent World" that were unforgettable in your mind?

Out of the many things I remember from ADW, the one think that will always stick in my mind about this show was that Crazy Psychiatrist played by Debbie Allen. She cracks me up with her Trademark saying:

RELAX, RELATE, RELEASE!

I still use that whenever something gets me under pressure and it helps Whitley out in her situations as well. I use that as mantra for me "Relax, Relate, Release!"

What are some of your favorite moments?

Probably the moment that first comes to mind when I think of ADW is from the final episode when they all sing "End of The Road" by Boyz II Men.

The most memorable moment for me of course was Dwayne interrupting Whitley and Byron's wedding ceremony, and Whitley leaving with Dwayne in Save The Best For Last part 2. I remember when that originally aired. I just said to myself "damn, this is a good show." That's still one of my favorite ADW moments.

Definately when Ron and Freddie made out in Height Hall!!! :liplick:


This is a little moment, but I think its really cute...when Dwayne and Ron were playing basketball at the end of an episode and Ron distracts Dwayne by kissing him on the cheek and then goes to make a slam-dunk...it was SO unexpected! But very cute. I guess I have a think for Ron kissing people, don't I??? :lol:

When Edafe Blackmon beat the crap out of Gina. Also Dwayne and Whitley's wedding, when Whitley and Dwayne made out in the car after leaving Denise's house and the various appearances by the parents of the various characters esp Patti Labelle

There are too many emotional scenes and some funny scenes, great punchlines etc... But i have one in mind here...

Missthang interrupts Pookie's Class because they had a fight about bed vs season ticket for basketball... then lena (jada pinket) asker "That's your man?" and Missthang responds something like "you damn right, you little barackuda!" with her accent and the gesture, it makes this one simple line soooooooooo funy! It was one sign that when Witley has a man she puts a signs on him that reads "Can't Touch This!"

When Gilbert Hall was on fire, and Dwayne had to put Whitley over his shoulder to get her to leave, and she grabbed a photo off her wall on the way out - the only thing she took with her - and said "Denzelllllll". Still makes me laugh.

I loved the episode when Peggy pretended to seduce Dwayne. She started to come on to him when the song "I've been a fool for you" started to play in the background. You can feel tension as soon as the first note of the song played as Peggy says "Good". (Season One)

I loved when Denise and Whitley are at odds in the school play. Whitley tells Denise that she's seen better acting in a puppet show and Denise comes back with "You should know a lot about puppets because you act like a stick!" (Season One)
