View Full Version : Try harder Leah, pleas foreman70s 01-21-2005, 04:26 PM Edited by HuntingtonM15 Please refer to this thread: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=129553 MZ 01-21-2005, 05:49 PM Why don't you just worry about yourself and leave her alone? She had a baby and is trying to raise it while also doing the show. I'm sure exercise time is rare. MZ queenschick 01-21-2005, 11:53 PM Personally I think she's doing great. In Domestic Disturbance she looked a lot thinner. Storywriter 01-22-2005, 01:15 AM I had wanted to point it out she did look thinner in this episode.Again I say I'm glad I'm not the only one whom sees that.Mel :) ricardo/mertz 01-23-2005, 12:58 PM I wish people would just get off her butt! She just had a baby and almost immediately went back to work. It's hard to lose after you have a baby. The older you are the harder it is. I'm not saying she's old, cuz we are the same age...... 26,lol! Maybe she's happy with her new body and has more on her mind now besides herself. I think she looks great. How would all of you being mean like it if your weight gain was broadcast on t.v. and the internet? Show some compassion she is a person with feelings! ;) queenschick 01-23-2005, 03:24 PM How would all of you being mean like it if your weight gain was broadcast on t.v. and the internet? Show some compassion she is a person with feelings! ;) I totally agree with you :) . Leave her alone. Why was this topic started when HuntingtonM10 specifically said not to make any more threads referring to Leah's weight?..really now.  Dennis 01-23-2005, 06:54 PM Fans have rights to their opinions. It's not like he's saying it to someone who is thin and wants them to be thinner. I mean look at Leah Remini. She is a sow! Maybe she is trying hard, in which case we shouldn't be telling her to try harder, but it really doesn't look like she's trying very hard. I mean Sarah Jessica Parker lost all the weight after what, 2 months? I think most actresses do. I guess she doesn't really care about the way she looks on screen. I don't understand how someone who was fit before could not lose weight quickly. She could possibly be pregnant again. Wasn't this same kind of talk happening last year when people were suspecting she might be pregnant. Some people have them really close together... All I'm sayin'... It's not like its hurting the show that much, anyway. The writers are what's hurting it. Does anyone know if this will be the last season? Either make them have a kid or end it already! It is so redundant!!! I'm goin' crazy here! Each episode in the first 3-4 seasons has been redone at least once it seems like. HuntingtonM15 01-23-2005, 07:00 PM I totally agree with you :) . Leave her alone. Why was this topic started when HuntingtonM10 specifically said not to make any more threads referring to Leah's weight?..really now.  I guess since they are a relatively new member, they didn't see the sticky about Leah's weight. Though, in the future foreman70s, please do not start anymore threads like this. I will leave this one open, since nothing bad has been said yet. Eddie Haskell 01-24-2005, 05:15 AM I don't care what she weighs; I just want the show to remain funny. My wife mentioned her weight. I told my wife, "You could stand to lose a few pounds yourself." Its something I would say, though. I doubt your wife is as massive as Leah, though. foreman70s 01-26-2005, 12:24 PM It is not up to you to decide who should lose weight. As Eddie Haskell stated, all that matters is that the show remains funny, which it has been. Storywriter 01-26-2005, 01:46 PM Anyway tonight's the night KOQ fans it sounds like it may be a good one.Mel :) Dennis 01-27-2005, 12:04 AM It is not up to you to decide who should lose weight. I still don't understand what the big deal is about her weight. She is still stunning either way. vhshunter 02-09-2005, 11:32 AM Leah was on Ellen the other day and she looked like she lost most of the weight though I wish everyone would stop talking about it, it's no big deal They are finally doing an episode about it tonight. That will only make people talk more. Storywriter 02-09-2005, 01:34 PM Just ignore the ones whom talk badly about her because of her weight they are just low lives and not worth any response anymore if people talk more about her after tonights episode and its not good ignore is best..Mel :) ;) dlemond 02-09-2005, 01:44 PM The reason her weight is an issue is because it would change a simple dynamic of the show- the overweight guy with the slim attractive wife. Not like they haven't brought up that issue before. So her being overweight just changes the premise in the fact that now she would be a hypocrite for critizing him about his weight. And like he wouldnt have a few zingers to send her way now that she is larger? So obviously they have to address it, and yes it does present a problem in that they had to actually write an episode to talk about this. Her being overweight in general is obviously no big deal and I'm sure she will lose it. But in relation to the show it most certainly affected the approach. Skywalker 02-10-2005, 01:23 AM I have a question- Is Leah the wife? I am not really for sure as I have only watched this show a couple of times. ;) Yeah. ricardo/mertz 02-10-2005, 07:38 AM The reason her weight is an issue is because it would change a simple dynamic of the show- the overweight guy with the slim attractive wife. I don't know if you watched Frazer, but, when Daphne had a baby in real life they addressed her after baby weight on the show and sent her to some kind of wight loss camp. So this isn't the only show who has had to deal with this. Go Leah! I'm rootin' for ya! catface 02-11-2005, 08:51 AM The reason her weight is an issue is because it would change a simple dynamic of the show- the overweight guy with the slim attractive wife. Those of you who are ignoring the significance of the weight issue are in denial and not thinking through the impact her weight is having on the enjoyment of viewers. If she doesn't go back to her old weight, it might lose viewers and they might have to terminate the show. The latest show finally addressed the issue but not even near as blatently as it should have. I think one of the main atractions of the show was how cute and pretty Leah was. It made herr whole personality and visage much more pleasant to watch and fit in with one of the main premises of the show. If you watch the reruns, and I do, it is amazing how much more pleasing to the eye she is and her interactions with Doug are much more poignant. Daphne finally lost her weight, and yes, that detracted from the show at the time. I personally know that if you want to, you CAN lose weifht after having a baby if you really want to. An actress has everything at her disposal to use whatever is necessary to get back to normal. Stop being babies about protecting a very rich successful person who should be thinking of the good of the show, for all the cast's sake, and for all the viewers who loved her the way she was. Don't project your own feelings about inability to lose weight and the problems it's made for you onto someone who doesn't need your pity. Marilyn MandieR1980 02-11-2005, 10:18 AM I watch the show because I think they are funny together and I think Leah is great I don't watch a damn tv show because of what someone looks like, that's extremely shallow HuntingtonM15 02-11-2005, 10:53 AM Stop being babies about protecting a very rich successful person who should be thinking of the good of the show, for all the cast's sake, and for all the viewers who loved her the way she was. Don't project your own feelings about inability to lose weight and the problems it's made for you onto someone who doesn't need your pity. This may come as a shocker to you, but you are NOT Leah. You do NOT know what she is doing to lose the weight. Each week she looks a little thinner to me. I'm sure she really is thinking about the good of the show. It doesn't matter how much money she has or what her status is, EVERYONE DOES NOT LOSE THE WEIGHT AS QUICKLY AS THEY WOULD LIKE. As someone said, she could easily get surgery or something, because she obviously has the money for that...but she isn't! She is doing what she can on her own, and I respect her for that. With the exception of a few episodes at the beginning of this season, I think the show has still been GREAT. To me, it has been A LOT better than last season. I am still laughing...Leah's weight has no influence on that. Storywriter 02-11-2005, 01:27 PM I totally agree with dlemond. It matters not which side of this issue I'm on. (Though, I was the first to post on her pregnancy early last year on this board with my post.."Is Leah Remini Pregnant Or Am I Losing My Mind?") And what I look like matters not, as I'm not on a TV show seen by millions each week. So you can throw that little suggestion out the window...it's irrelevant! Let's just hope the ratings stay strong enough to bring this show back next season, cause to tell you the truth, I'm running out of stuff to watch comedy-wise on television. It's all reality crap, forensic medicine shows and other dramas. I'm really getting bummed out with the lack of comedy programming on the networks. For goodness sakes, hire some damn writers out there! Storywriter 02-21-2005, 01:33 AM Why? It matters not which side of this issue I'm on. In fact, I'd suggest the opposite is true. If it isn't, why are there so many hot women on television? And how many repulsive ones are landing these roles in network tv shows? hmmm! In short, yes people ARE shallow when it comes to their tv entertainment. Television research tells executives that you have to make the package "attractive" and it's not even up for debate. I've got a 50+ year history of television to back me up. Again, not MY opinion as I'll watch KOQ as long as it airs, but the masses may not. And on that note, does anyone even know how the ratings are doing this season? I haven't even looked the show up anywhere-not that I could even find it as I used to check futoncritic.com but they don't really post ratings like they used to. Any info appreciated. I wasn't really fond of a few episodes this season (towards the beginning), but that was strictly due to the fact that the writing wasn't so great. Lately, I have really been enjoying the show as I always have. vhshunter 02-21-2005, 02:30 AM Thanks I wasn't sure where it placed now that's why I didn't put it down I didn't want to look like an idiot by putting the wrong thing down..Mel  That is 3RD in it`s time slot.
