Let me think here. After hours of research I finally found a site that gave me information on the rates of season six. During season six, viewers of Designing Women was at an all time high. This proves that Allison and Carlene were carefully picked for the show, each of them made their own contribution, and that ALLISON DIDN'T MESS UP THE SHOW! That's all I have to say. But since I proved you people wrong, please stop talking about the character in a rude fashion. Now, this post is open for comments and compliments!

Designing Women
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JULIA: Please, if you really want to feel like crying try being one of those women who hold down a job, raise a family on the side, watch their legal rights erode year after year, and are still being told that women's liberation went to far. That ought to make you feel like crying. Hhhoooo!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julia and Carlene are talking about a poll on the Flinstones sexuality that was in the newspaper...
ALLISON: I can't believe you two are talking about cartoon character's sexuality. They're two dementinal.
CARLENE: Well gee, Allison. So are you.
Way to go, finally someone to prove allison didnt hurt the show. And someone to finally tell everyone off. YOu go. I liked allison as well, Her season is one of my favorites, i wish she didnt leave the show. I must point out though, iread at the offical DW site that By the end of the season the ratings werent the best anymore. And i also read that the season was so popular cause it was so controversial. About Julia coming on the show and how she would do.
Allison all the way, lol

The first episode I ever watched was an episode from Season 6, with Allison in it, and she was extremly pretty and funny, and when it went back to Season 1, I was kind of disappointed, even though Suzanne was kind of funny. Julia Duffy and Dixie Carter were the best on the show. I hope that this doesn't cause any constroversy, but I didn't care for Jan Hooks on Desinging Women, she was way better on SNL.

Season 6 opened with huge ratings, because of viewer curiosity over the new cast members. These episodes helped boost the overall season average. But ratings were really dropping by the season's end. CBS was ready to cancel it, but when they found out that NBC was interested in picking it up, they renewed it, on the condition that Julia Duffy be dropped from the cast.
Too bad -- Julia Duffy's a good actress and really could have been great on the show (I like the episodes where Allison and Anthony are feuding over who gets Suzanne's house). But the writers really didn't write her character as well as they could have.

I agree. I mean, I know that ratings were at an all time high, even though they dropped (I don't like to mention the darker side of things) but think about it now. Everyone wants to see Season 6!

I think I liked the non-Allison episodes more because I started watching the show from the very beginning, so those were the characters with whom I still identify. Viewers that were introduced to the show later on in the series identify with Allison and BJ. Maybe it's not so much a matter of who's better, but more a matter of which characters were introduced to us first. Just a thought. :wave:
