i dont like guns period - somebody could get killed!

But I think that the more important question is whether this topic is too political to be discussed here....

The right to bear arms is promised by the constitution. As long as people
are responsible in using them, that is all that matters. And criminals will always use guns in the commission of crimes, so anti-gun laws will have no effect.

that's a pretty debatable statement; I'm living in Dayton, Ohio right now where it is apparently legal to carry concealed weapons (not that that makes any difference in the number of people waving guns around here). There have been more murders here in a city of 150,000 so far this year than there were in an entire year when I was living in Vancouver, Canada - a city of about 2 million, with standard Canadian anti-gun laws.

It all depends on your perspective; I certainly dont feel safer with the right to bear arms, because I am NOT going to carry a gun, and I am NOT going to shoot anybody.

I agree.

To my understanding, gun-related crimes are more common in states where there are tighter laws on guns. I can't say I really feel comfortable though, when I'm sitting in a restaurant, and the guy next to me has a gun on his waist. I think people should start using swords instead of guns, that would be cool. :thumbsup:

We dont have guns in Australia.Our prime minister is quite vocal about that,the country is pretty much unprotected.We dont have school shootings that means,but there have been cases where kids have threatened other kids with knives.

I think guns are good for safety.I'd sleep better at night knowing i have some kind of protection in case anything was to happen.
Think about it,why do we bolt our doors and windows every night? Is it because there's wolves prowling? NO.Its because there are humans out there.

I agree,and thats why there is a problem.

I was thinkin about gettin a gun cause there's so many crazy people out there. There's too many bad things happening not to carry a gun. Having a gun would make me safe just in case i had a problem with somebody cause fighting with your hands doesn't work anymore. So many people are scared to fight so they'd rather shoot you. Remember the part in the Friday movie with Ice Cube when he was gonna kill Debo & his father stopped him from killing him? John Weatherspoon told Ice Cube when he was growing up, his fists made him a man. John is living in the old days cause men don't solve their situations like that anymore when somebody is bothering them. I wish it was like that today when he was growing up cause like he said, you win some fights & you lose some fights but at least you live to see another day. People that are killing people don't care whether they live to see another day or not cause they obviously don't care about their life.

i dont like guns period - somebody could get killed! Yes more people have proven THEY CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE WITH A GUN!!

I dont think they should be as easy to get as they are.. (Of course Criminals will still obtain 1)

I dunno what the answer is :(
