I work in Manhattan in Midtown East and Tina Louise lives in the neighborhood...I have seen her here and there: Stood next to her crossing the street, saw her buying fruit from a street vendor, going to the neighborhood post office and nail salon (a co-worker reported being in the nail salon when Tina ordered another startled woman to get out of a chair so she could dry her nails away from the drafty doorway! The woman moved - I guess she was shocked to be told to get up by Ginger Grant!)

I most recently saw her last Friday - I was walking down the street and she was coming straight at me...one of us had to move and you guessed it...it was me lol...anyway I have never spoken to her because she has a very "unapproachable" vibe about her...I have heard from a couple of people I work with who tried to say hello that is she is not very friendly so I didn't want to ruin Gilligan's Island forever by having a bad incident with a star of it (I once said hello to Polly Holliday and she was the nastiest woman I have ever met - I could never watch Alice again after that and have to confess I cheer every time she gets ejected out of the window at the end of "Gremlins")

Tina looks very very good in person for a woman of 70 - and I have seen her in broad daylight - although she is usually carrying a parasol during daylight hours (that is how I start most of my daytime Tina sightings - by seeing a parasol in my peripheral vision lol!!!

Good story, omenboy. As much as we fans want
to like her, there are too many stories out
there that seem to prove Tina is probably not
the most likable person. So I agree, why risk
a bad encounter if she gives off some sort
of "don't bother me" vibe. I wouldn't either.
Just leave it as Tina was great on the series
and inspired some very lustfull thoughts and
fun. And we don't have to necessarily like
someone to still enjoy the lust. (Although it
would be nice.) But it is hard to lust if
you find something to hate about them. Tina
seems like she might be more than a little
bit of a prima donna. It's too bad. So just
leave well enough alone. But it is surprising
she never seemed to grow out of that. But, then,
I never grew out of my lust either...
