View Full Version : Committed "The Tea Episode" Talkback
slackermonkey 01-13-2005, 06:51 PM Sadly, tonight is the last night Committed will be airing on Thursdays. I've really enjoyed having two episodes per week. Damn you, Donald Trump!
THE ONE THAT YOU WANT--Nate (Josh Cooke) shows up at the hospital and is initially confused for Raoul, an imaginary boyfriend Marni (Jennifer Finnigan) concocted to impress her co-workers. Nate then feels that he is competing with the imaginary Raoul for Marni's affection. Marni has a hard time letting go of this lie but is forced to, after a bad fall lands her in the hospital and her emergency contact (Raoul) is called. Meanwhile, Bowie (Darius McCrary) writes an inappropriate song about his relationship with his mother. Tess (Tammy Lynn Michaels) hires Clown (Tom Poston) to perform at a birthday party.

And the last of its "moderate" ratings success. Come next Tuesday there will be not a good lead-in (The Biggest Loser), instead NBC will have underachieving Scrubs as its lead-in. Look for According to Jim to clobber Scrubs, and Rodney will beat Committed.
slackermonkey 01-13-2005, 07:35 PM Perhaps. I know Scrubs has never been a ratings winner, but Committed's extra exposure may be enough to give it a boost on Tuesdays. Who knows until the 18th's ratings come in.
slackermonkey 01-13-2005, 10:04 PM Solid episode. The fake boyfriend thing was pretty funny, and I enjoyed the whole birthday party subplot too.
Although Nate's friend is still weirding me out and the clown is hugely underused.

that Rodney show is a boring mess, I dont think it can be considered a sure thing to beat committed.
I dont know how much effect the lead-in show has on it in this case either; "the Biggest Loser" certainly had no impact on MY decision to watch committed, its a completely different genre of show.
tvfan0101 01-13-2005, 10:49 PM The show needs more clown.
sonyab 01-14-2005, 12:50 AM This was a really funny episode. The clown scene was very funny. What a strange argument that Marni and Nate had about her fake boyfriend. It was funny but very strange. Well a couple of strange people dating can lead to a very strange argument ROFL. Then there is bowie and his song to his mother or about his mother? Very funny. :)

snl75 01-14-2005, 03:08 AM i have to say this is one of the best new sitcoms ive seen in a long time sure the people are weird but thats what a like about it . i laugh out loud at this show something i rarely do when i watch sitcoms these days this show is flat out funny my mother likes it too and shes not a big sitcom watcher.
slackermonkey 01-14-2005, 06:05 AM I wouldn't say it's one of the best new sitcoms in awhile, but it's certainly one of the best airing right now. Unfortunately, that's not saying much.
robyrob 01-14-2005, 09:29 PM I dont know if its necessarily the best, but it is definately an entertaining little show with cute and quirky moments that too many shows just dont give you.
Brent88 01-15-2005, 04:54 PM that Rodney show is a boring mess, I dont think it can be considered a sure thing to beat committed.
I watch neither. :p I'm watching The Amazing Race on CBS at that time, which will beat both, so there.
slackermonkey 01-15-2005, 06:58 PM So if you don't watch the show, are you just here to tell us that The Amazing Race will beat this show?
*GoodMorningCalgary* 01-15-2005, 07:30 PM last nights episode was so far one of the worst ones....I think I only laughed like once or twice through the whole thing....too bad :( hopefully Tuesdays episode will be better.
slackermonkey 01-15-2005, 07:56 PM I don't know, the one scene with Raoul was almost enough to save this episode.
Brent88 01-15-2005, 08:02 PM So if you don't watch the show, are you just here to tell us that The Amazing Race will beat this show?
No... I provided ratings info in the other thread. ;)
slackermonkey 01-16-2005, 12:27 AM Oh okay. Out of context, it just seemed like someone trying to stir up trouble or something.
