One that would be classified in the "other" category is when Beaver frequently starts a sentence with "Well I..." when he's on the verge of telling a lie.

Well this one isn't necessarily overused but the phrase that sticks out in my head is when the boys talk about someone giving them the "business". I've never heard that phrase on any other show or in real life and always wondered where they came up with that.

OMG! I'm surprised no one has mentioned this…..

They ALWAYS say "on account of…"--- except it sounds more like "ona counta". LOL! Just listen, you can spot in EVERY episode!


Wally: "We went down to the malt shop… ona counta Mary Ellen would be there."

Beaver: "We're not going outside, ona counta the weather is bad"

I always wondered about that too, and found it a little weird. I agree about all of the other phrases you guys mentioned too. Now we couldn't even talk about the dialogue used today! ;)
