OMG, I found out about this on another message board, and I don't even live in the DC area!! Man, that sucks!! Maybe, if you can afford it, this might be the time to look into getting satellite radio.

That's not going to win you any Hispanic friends, Phoebe! :p

Hey, Latinos need their music, too. Usted no puede la gustar toda la gente -you can't please everybody!

Oh yeah, New York's rock station WNEW-FM abandoned its rock format in 1999, and now they play the same kind of annoying light dance pop I used to listen to WNEW-FM to get away from! But New York is not really a rock and roll town anymore anyway. I got over it, and that's my advice to you dudes.

I didn't mean what I said to offend anybody. In fact, lately, I've been finding myself listening to quite a bit Latin music on the radio, even if I can't understand most of what they're singing!! I was just saying that if you're so used to listening to alternative rock, then that radio station changes to latin, I really don't think alot of the alt.listeners are going to continue to listen to that same station. Same goes for is the station was latin and changed to alt. I doubt alot of those listeners would start listening to alt.

Hope that clears some of it up.

I've never heard any of these stations flipped their formats. Since I was posting it on that thread last year. I was looking up on Scott Fybush's website that WZMR in Albany flipped its format from Smooth Jazz to Country while it is simulcasting WFFG (Froggy 107) on 104.9. Last year, WGHQ flipped its "Music of Your Life" standards format back to all talk and WELV was also flipping the same affiliate to simulcast WRWD as a country station on AM. I could not listen to the radio to play MOYL because, I can listen to it on internet in web streaming form. I remember back in May that WRKW flipped its format from heavy metal (that I don't like it at all) to a mix of 50's & 60's oldies which is Cool 92.9 as WBPM (formerly was at 94.3 since it moved to 92.9) and later simulcast it on WCKL at 560 so that I can hear it on AM until the sun goes down, all that I can hear on 560 is dead air all night while the station still remains on the air at night on FM. I missed all of the formats in the New York City and Hudson Valley areas. RIP: Cool 94.3, Rhythm 94.3, B94, WNEW-AM, WQEW, Jammin' 105, Smooth Jazz CD 101.9 :(

For those of you fans love the oldies, there was one other station in Cincinnati that used to play oldies, it was WSAI. The other day for example Monday, WSAI flipped its Real Oldies format to hot talk station like WNEW did back in 1999. I've never been to Cincinnati to hear WSAI. WSAI moved its 1530 dial back to 1360 for its historic call letters as a sports station. It was a sad day.:( Just like WABC did back in 1982 when they flipped its format to talk after leaving Top 40 radio behind. I found this aircheck on this site. Here it is!

The End of WSAI (http://public.webbox.com/krxo@swbell.net) (Click on the 6th link to listen).

:crying: RIP WSAI 1530 :crying:

I was posting it on my board that WFKP jwas dropping the Kiss-FM simulcast on 96.1 since I was coming home from work that I heard the stunning format of Cupid 99.3 was beginning to air throughout the weekend. No word on what the station will become. Will see what happens on Monday. Last weekend, WFAF in Northern Westchester on 106.3 had already dropped its WFAS simulcast and stunned as Flix 106 and then changed the format back on Monday and it becomes a simulcast of Poughkeepsie's WPDH.
