Taking place at the fictional “SCTV Studios,” the “staff” consisted of Guy Caballero (played by Joe Flaherty) as the station owner, Edith Prickly (Andrea Martin) as the manager, and Earl Camembert (Eugene Levy) as the announcer-newscaster. Each program consisted of a group of sketches set at the SCTV Studios. Cast members did take-offs on quiz shows, news, and anything else on the tube. They even performed spoofs of classic TV shows, such as Leave it to Beaver and Welcome Back, Kotter. Other stars of the show include Martin Short, John Candy, Rick Moranis, and Harold Ramis.

Viewers will go on a wild ride with the jet-set actress as she travels from Hollywood to Miami to New York to Texas, replete with an entourage of managers, publicists and film crew in tow. Viewers will get a rare behind-the-scenes look at the actress, who skyrocketed to super-stardom in 1976 courtesy of her role in Charlie's Angels and further cemented her reputation as a sex symbol with the 1977 release of a poster featuring her in a one-piece swimsuit. Among the highlights expected to be featured in Chasing Farrah include: Farrah on the town in Miami as she party-hops and poses for the paparazzi; her visit to the U.S. Open in New York- where the tennis-loving Farrah caused a stir among such luminaries as Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova; and Farrah's encounter with a group of New York City Firemen, whom she meets when her Manhattan shopping spree comes to a halt when she passes a store that's on fire. The special will also showcase Farrah as she deals with such ordinary issues as searching for a lost wallet, visiting her parents and getting head-to-toe salon treatments.

The tabloids. Millions of fans. Would-be suitors. Hollywood producers. Money-hungry merchandisers. Other celebrities. Even our own camera crew. From LA to Miami to New York, everyone is chasing Farrah. But what is it we want from her? Another picture? Another autograph? Another headline? To paraphrase her poetry, all we want is 'everything'. And this is our chance to get it. A reality show about the making of a reality show starring Farrah Fawcett, this series will allow us a look into the life of the most photographed woman in the world. And what we will see is that the actress, artist and icon is also a real person.

TV Land Is Chasing Farrah in Reality Series to Debut in March

Network Follows Iconic Actress in Six-Part Series Debuting Wednesday,
March 23

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Jan. 14 -- TV Land will premiere
Chasing Farrah, an original reality series that follows iconic Hollywood
actress and sex symbol, Farrah Fawcett, as she goes about her daily life as
one of the most recognized stars in the history of celebrity at 10 P.M. on
Wednesday, March 23, 2005. The six-episode series will give viewers a rare
glimpse into what her life is like in and out of the spotlight.
Throughout Chasing Farrah, viewers go on a wild ride with the jet-set
actress as she travels from Hollywood to Miami to New York to her birthplace
of Texas, replete with an entourage of managers, publicists and film crew in
tow. Viewers will get a rare behind-the-scenes look at the actress, who
skyrocketed to super-stardom in 1976 courtesy of her role in Charlie's Angels
and further cemented her reputation as a sex symbol with the 1977 release of a
poster featuring her in a one-piece swimsuit. Throughout the premiere episode,
viewers will follow Farrah as she attends the U.S. Open in New York- where the
tennis-loving Farrah caused a stir among such luminaries as Martina
Navratilova and Maria Sharapova; as she parties with friend Alanna Stewart and
as her management team tries to hire her an assistant.
Additional highlights which will be featured in Chasing Farrah include:
Farrah on the town in Miami as she party-hops and tries to elude the paparazzi
and Farrah's encounter with a group of New York City Firemen, whom she meets
when her Manhattan shopping spree comes to a halt when she passes a store
that's on fire. The special will also showcase Farrah as she deals with such
ordinary issues as searching for a lost wallet, visiting her parents and
getting head-to-toe salon treatments.
"So many of our perceptions of Farrah Fawcett are through the tabloids,
quick sound bites on the news and her roles in film and television," explains
Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land & Nick at Nite. "TV Land wants to take our
viewers into the life of Farrah Fawcett to see what she's really about, since
so few of us know what it's like to be a recognized Hollywood icon for your
entire adult life. Chasing Farrah hopes to give our viewers a rare glimpse
into her life away both on the red carpet and away from the spotlight."
The series is Executive Produced by Craig Nevius (Windmill Productions)
alongside TV Land's Vice President of Development and Production, Sal Maniaci.
Farrah Fawcett is represented by Evolution's Mark Burg and Talent Works' Harry
Gold.
TV Land Productions was created in 2003 to develop original programming
that complements the network's successful acquired programming slate. TV Land

emerging television classic. Last year's recipient was FOX's
critically-acclaimed comedy series Arrested Development.

PIONEER AWARD

This award is given to a television creator who is an industry leader, a
visionary who is able to bring together all the disparate elements that lead
to great television - wonderful ideas, skillful craftspeople, charismatic
actors and talented writers. This year's recipient is Aaron Spelling.

The most prolific producer in television history according to The Guinness
Book of World Records, Aaron Spelling knows his audience. From westerns to
Emmy-winning television films on the atom bomb and AIDS to detective series
and escapist fare, soaps, glamour, and family shows, Aaron Spelling has met
the needs of his television viewers. Since selling his first script to Dick
Powell in 1956, he has produced a record 4,500 plus hours of television
programming, including 300 hours of movies for television as well as a dozen
feature films. In 1978, Spelling was the first producer to have four series
simultaneously ranked in the top ten: Charlie's Angels, Starsky & Hutch,
Fantasy Island and The Love Boat. Spelling, Chairman and CEO of Spelling
Television , a Paramount/Viacom Co, is currently represented on television
by the WB hit series, 7th Heaven, just renewed for a 10th season, making it
the longest running family show in television history, and Charmed and
Summerland, both popular series for the WB.

Spelling partnered with another TV legend -- Danny Thomas -- and together
they produced three series-The Danny Thomas Show, The Guns of Will Sonnet,
and The Mod Squad-as well as six movies-of-the-week for ABC-TV. In 1971, he
formed a partnership with Leonard Goldberg and over the next eight years,
Spelling produced 38 television movies and the top-rated series Charlie's
Angels, Starsky & Hutch, Fantasy Island, Hart to Hart, and the highly
acclaimed, award-winning series Family.

Always at the forefront of relevant and current social issues, Spelling
proved himself a pioneer in breaking new ground in the television arena. He
was the first to sensitively portray gay characters with Steven Carrington
and Matt Fielding on his mega-hit shows Dynasty and Melrose Place. Other
series produced by Spelling adding to a virtual guide to television history
include The Colbys, Hotel, The Love Boat, T.J. Hooker, Matt Houston, Vega$,
The Rookies, Beverly Hills 90210, (which would launch the current wave of
youth-oriented shows and ran a record 10 seasons), and its mega spin-off,
Melrose Place, among others.

LEGEND AWARD

This award is presented to a television series which has stood the test of
time and ranks among the most memorable and celebrated shows in TV history.
TV Land will honor The Carol Burnett Show as this year's recipient.

For more than a decade, Carol Burnett and the talented cast of The Carol
Burnett Show entertained America with song, dance and comedy in one of the
most successful variety series of all time. The show was, in fact, one of
the most successful programs in television history. In an era when variety
shows would come and go, the Emmy-award winning program remained successful,
due in large part to the chemistry between Carol and her supporting stars.
Burnett, one of television's most versatile variety performers who could
sing, dance, act, clown and mime was the cast's binding force.

ICON AWARD

This award is presented to a comedy show that made us laugh and keeps us
laughing, a timeless classic. A show of enduring popularity, whose humor
came not out of farce, wordplay and topicality, but from compelling stories
and engaging characters. This year's recipient is The Bob Newhart Show.

A hugely popular hit, The Bob Newhart Show garnered several Emmy nominations
and awards including nods for Outstanding Comedy Series. It originally aired
from 1972-78 on CBS. It featured one of the most beloved casts in television
history -- Suzanne Pleshette as Bob's wife, Emily; Bill Daily as their needy
neighbor Howard Borden; Marcia Wallace as the quick-witted receptionist
Carol Bondurant and Peter Bonerz as Bob's office neighbor, the orthodontist
Jerry Robinson. The cast also boasted a lengthy list of well-known
"patients" of Dr. Hartley, who became household figures in their own right.

POP CULTURE AWARD

This award is presented to a show that has crossed the line from television
series to pop culture phenomenon. This year's honoree is Soul Train.

The longest-running TV program of any genre in the entire history of
first-run, nationally syndicated TV programming, Soul Train became a
national sensation in the mid-1970s and broke new ground for
African-American entertainment. The brainchild of radio announcer Don
Cornelius, he acted as creator and executive producer of the show. The
weekly series, which originally premiered in October 1971, has featured
performances by the top R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel and Jazz recording artists in
the industry. It has also featured appearances by guest hosts and dance
numbers from the Soul Train Gang. Each week, the latest hits and coolest
dances were served up in a slick package that had kids of all ages and races
dancing around the TV-room floor. It is often remembered as the television
show that did the most to bring African-American popular culture into
American households.

TV Land has also asked viewers to log on to tvland.com and vote for a
variety of fun categories including "Favorite Singing Siblings" and
"Favorite Sing-Along Theme Song" with the winners to be announced and
presented at the show. The voting is taking place on tvland.com, and will
end on March 10. To date, over 1.3 million votes have been cast and traffic
to tvland.com increased 23% in the first month after the voting began. While
most of the winners will be announced during the telecast, many will be
announced exclusively at tvland.com during the live, synchronized show
companion.

Michael Levitt (TV Land Awards 2003 and 2004, Billboard Music Awards) serves
as Executive Producer, Emmy-award winning Glenn Weiss as Director (2003 Tony
Awards, Christmas in Washington, Star Search), Greg Sills as Supervising
Producer (VH1 Divas, Billboard Music Awards), Michael Dempsey as Producer
(Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration, mtvICON), and Sal Maniaci
and Larry W. Jones also serve as Executive Producers.

Hit ABC Sitcom.... could it be Home Improvement? Oh, they announced that already. So what could it be? I'm putting a safe money-free bet on Mr. Belvedere.

“We are so excited to have Cedric the Entertainer host the third annual TV Land Awards,” states Larry W. Jones. “He is a comedic talent with great energy for the show.”

Additionally, during the broadcast of the 2001 Super Bowl, a television viewing audience of more than 144 million witnessed Cedric nab the #1 commercial spot (“The Date”) for Anheuser-Busch’s Bud Light and USA Today dubbed him “Madison Avenue’s Most Valuable Player.” This commercial was the start of an ongoing presence in these popular commercials.

Other big-screen credits include 1998 comedy Ride, Big Momma’s House, Kingdom Come co-starring Whoopi Goldberg and Serving Sara with Matthew Perry and Elizabeth Hurley. Cedric can be heard as the voice of a zoo bear in Eddie Murphy’s Dr. Dolittle 2 and also as the voice of “Carl the Rhino” in the hit animated feature Ice Age.

Now helming his own production company, A Bird And A Bear Entertainment, Cedric will develop and produce feature films. Johnson Family Vacation was the first feature under the new company. Beyond his career success, Cedric has founded The Cedric The Entertainer Charitable Foundation, Inc., which contributes financial aid to inner city communities through scholarships and outreach programs to enhance the lives of youth and families in his hometown of St. Louis.

In addition to Revlon, other major sponsors include Novartis, Orbitz, Walgreen's, Ambien and Honda.

yeah the DH spoof was multiple levels of brilliance. I mean...wow, I couldn't breathe when that was over. I really enjoyed the awards this year, particularly the tributes to Aaron Spelling and Charles Lane, who I now think is just amazing. What a way to spend your 100th birthday! And yeah, when Harvey and Tim gave their thank you speeches, I really truly thought I was going to wet myself. Harvey Korman is still one of the funniest men alive! :D

Cedric The Entertainer was a terrible host.

Other than that, I liked it. Harvey and Tim are one of the best comedy duos ever.... I love seeing them together.

The tribute to Soul Train was perfect.

I liked the DH spoof a lot.... but Charro killed it.
God, she's one annoying bitch.

I agree, Cedric had huge shoes to fill following John Ritter and Brad Garrett and sadly he couldn't. He wasn't funny and seemed to only be there so he could promote his movie.

I totally agree. He was definitely a bad choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was much better than last year's, about on the same level as 2003's.

My favorite part was the Aaron Spelling tribute, which I will be taping ASAP. I actually let out some tears there as he cried in the audience. ALL of the man's shows, the ones I've seen at least, rank as some of my ultimate favorites. His shows are just good plain fun to watch and he's definitely my favorite showrunner in all history. The montage of his shows' logos was just awesome. I was surprised that his daytime soap, "Sunset Beach," was shown. And Joan Collins looks wonderful for a 72 year-old, I add.

The "Soul Train" tribute was also wonderful to watch. My favorite performance was Mya's of "Last Dance" by Donna Summer. I thought something was sorta off with the music (it sounded echoey...), but I really liked her singing. The clips were fun to watch.

The "Desperate Housewives" spoof was GREAT! Joyce DeWitt, from behind, resembled Teri Hatcher a LOT, and Barbara Eden looks INCREDIBLE for a woman her age! Charo, Marion Ross and Shirley Jones were also great, as were the men.

I thought it was a great show and I look forward to watching it again.

I liked the Spelling tribute as well.... even though I can't say I really liked any of the shows he made.

Joan Collins is 72?! Damn.

Also.... how the hell did Roseanne get attractive?!

Joan was born in 1933, so sooner or later, she'll be 72. And I agree about Roseanne! She looked great!

TV LAND MAKES SECOND CITY FIRST PRIORITY AS NETWORK

WELCOMES SCTV TO ITS LINE-UP

Santa Monica, CA, March 17, 2005 – Second City Television (SCTV), one of the most creative and inspired comedies ever to air on television, joins the TV Land lineup beginning Friday, March 18 at 12 am ET/PT. The show, which originated from Canada, was a stomping ground for popular comedians such as John Candy, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin and many more who eventually moved into doing television and film in the US.

“SCTV really paved the way for some of the industry’s most popular and talented comedians,” explains Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. “This show was truly a part of television history, so what better way to celebrate this than by adding them to our strong roster of hits!”

Airing from 1976 to 1984, SCTV featured comedic performers from the famed Chicago and Toronto Second City comedy venues. It was one of the first television shows which satirized every aspect of the television medium, from the commercials to the executives to the news and what took place at this fictional television station. Writers and performers such as Harold Ramis, Martin Short, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O’Hara, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis and many more parodied everything in sight, from feature films and commercials to late-night horror movie hosts and the backstage goings-on at the fictional SCTV station itself.

Originally created for syndication, SCTV was picked up five years later by NBC and ran for two seasons of 90 minute episodes. It then moved to Cinemax for a last season of 45 minute episodes.

I have to see it again the tv awards. A poster wrote the show was filmed in the Barker Hanger. Does have anything to do with Bob Barker?. Also a hanger sound like a place to store planes??. If indeed its a airplane hanger boy they get the area to look great. You would never know.

Sadly,I must agree with everyone about Cedric The Entertainer. It did look as if he was only there to pomote his movie rather than host.If that unfunny clip is any indication on how The Honeymooners is going to be,it look as if The Johnson Vacation might be his masterpeice! The Desperate housewives spoof was quiet funny.Barbara Eden can still make a man drool dry over her!The best and greatest moment was when Soul Train came on and boy,did they ever turned it out!Overall,a mix review.I'm just glad they got rid of the dumb beginning and got close to task. :(
