I was wondering if you can still sued for downloading songs for the internet,
alot of people who I know use Itunes,Kazaa,Napster etc, I know on some
sites you have to pay.But I want to subscribe to one of these in the summer
because I'm thinking getting an MP3 player for my next birthday in August.

I'm pretty sure song swappers are still being sued. However, I don't think it's been reported as much as it used to be.

napster now costs 99 cents per song. YAAaAAaAAAAAay g:eyes2:d job METaLliCa.

i use kazaa all the time, usually just until i get the CD or whatever though. it's stupid that they sue people because they should be suing the service, not random people who use it. so those are my excuses if they try to sue me over it. by the way i have all the songs from bad religion's album "the empire strikes first" downloaded because i bought the CD a few months ago and there wasn't a disc in it.

I use Limewire, and from what I've heard they are only suing people who are sharing thousands of songs not people who are sharing a few songs.

You can't get sued for using Napster and iTunes, those are legal.

Use Limewire, or the irc network. Kazaa is crap with spyware, and corrupt files galore. If you are worried about getting arbitrarily targeted for getting sued, simply move your files from your "shared" folder to another location, and voila! Problem solved.

I use Smash hit.com that site where you can make up your own CD by choosing different songs from other CDs but I just press the listen button next to the songs. Hahah I dunno if I'll get sued for that or not.

The BT servers were sued, not the individual people. As yet no individual BT users have been sued for the sharing of ANY content.

As far as ordinary P-2-P goes...don't use Kazaa. It might be the largest network but it is also the slowest and the most targeted. Kazaa distributions also contain spyware and adware, as mentioned above. Try something else like Shareaza....
