View Full Version : We're All Invited To A Party!
SawgrassSteve 01-11-2005, 11:48 PM Ok. Let's pretend we're all new to the neighborhood, and are invited to a party at the Petries! It's going to be the biggest and best party they ever threw. It'll probably spill over into the backyard!
Rob and Laura only ask one thing; bring a dish for the buffet, and give a performance (wait, that's two things). Nothing fancy, if you like, but Rob's boss, Alan Brady might be there, so do your best!
What would you bring, and what would you do?
Steve
SpunkiiMonkii7078 01-12-2005, 08:15 AM For my dish, I would probably bring some type of salad, whatever I can find in my fridge LOL. For my performance, hmmmmmm, I would probably do a dance number, because that's what I'm best at!
That was an interesting question!!!!! It was kind of difficult for a minute too. LOL.
Carrie 01-12-2005, 09:58 AM I'd bring a dish of homemade lasagna (for Sally and Ric). I'm kind of shy, so I don't know what kind of entertainment I could provide. Maybe the "Human Joke Machine" would be able to help me out with a little comedy routine. ;)
jillm816 01-12-2005, 12:37 PM Can I bring the Potato Poopies?
Or maybe some homemade Moo Goo Gai Pan...
If the party spills into the backyard, I sure hope Rob and Laura haven't recently fertilized it...
As for entertaining, I think I will make like Frank Adamo and applaud from the back sofa, by the bricks. :clap
jillm816 01-12-2005, 12:41 PM Oh, yeah, and whoever is bringing the Avocado and Peanut Butter dip better not leave out the mustard! :p
octobereve 01-12-2005, 02:47 PM OK, I'll bring the Avocado and Peanut Butter Dip in a Pyrex Cinderella bowl in the Sandalwood pattern just like Laura has. I don't have any talents so I will turn people's names into pictures like Mr. Lion used to do on the Bozo Show.
Lolac 01-12-2005, 06:13 PM I will bring the bread puddin' with raisins and a bag of walnuts!
For your entertainment I will break a board with my fist!
Lolac
JudgeGarth 01-12-2005, 07:42 PM I'll record all the festivities on my mini-tapie.
octobereve 01-12-2005, 09:10 PM And I'll bring my Rick Vallone records.
Larry Surrell 01-12-2005, 10:16 PM I'll bring a box of Crummy Buttons. For the entertainment I can play my guitar (even while I'm awake), or try a ventriloquist act with Dummy McGee
SawgrassSteve 01-13-2005, 09:51 AM For the buffet I'd bring my famous Pickle Wings; chicken wings marinated in dill pickle juice and seasonings, then either grilled or broiled, and served with sweet-n-sour sauce or blue cheese dressing.
for entertainment, I'd just let Laura flip me  !

Wow, Steve! Those sound good! How long do you marinate them in the pickle juice? I'm going to have to try those!!

If it's the sour dill pickle juice, 2-3 hours is fine. If it's the milder, cucumber-type juice, double it. Sprinkle in some mixed crushed peppercorn and paprika or apply it just before grilling or broiling. If after tasting, the pickle flavor seems a little weak, just sprinkle some fresh juice on before serving!
They're always the "hit" dish at every gathering. I've never been able to make enough!
So, I take it you'll be at the party then? :bouncers

I'll be there with bells on. If it's cold, I'll wear something warmer!

You think we can talk Rob and Laura into singing Mountain Greenery?
SawgrassSteve 01-14-2005, 07:37 PM Good idea, Nora!
In fact, click on this link, scroll down to "Mountain Greenery," (http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/Midi/Midi.htm) and let's all sing it together!
Ready? A one, and a two, and a...

Again, Steve, I am compelled to ask: How do you find these web sites?
Lolac
SawgrassSteve 01-14-2005, 07:55 PM Google, sometimes. Other times I don't know. I really don't! I just happen upon them sometimes :eatarrow: .
Steve
You think Alan will show up at the party? Will Mel come?
SawgrassSteve 01-17-2005, 05:46 PM Alan's never a guarantee. If he shows up, great! If not, we're not surprised. Mel on the other hand is much more likely to be there with a simple promise from someone to keep buddy under control!
Steve
I hope Buddy and Pickles bring their german shepherd...and if Sally brings Mr. Henderson the dog can have a good time, too!

I hope nobody brings Horrible!
Steve
Oh, Horrible's name has been changed to Gorgous, hadn't you heard? The Freek changed it for him.
Larry Surrell 01-28-2005, 08:08 PM It's funny that as many parties as Mel went to, he never brought his wife!
SawgrassSteve 01-28-2005, 10:07 PM Hey, Larry
That's true! Even when Alan showed up, Mel's wife didn't. I never thought about that.
Come to think of it, didn't the Helpers have 3 kids? Did we ever see them all?
Steve
jillm816 02-01-2005, 01:58 PM I just remember seeing Freddie. Unless Janie the babysitter was a Helper too? Didn't she live next door?
Lolac 02-01-2005, 02:28 PM I just remember seeing Freddie. Unless Janie the babysitter was a Helper too? Didn't she live next door?
The Helpers' three kids were Patti, Ellen and Freddie. We only saw Freddie. Janie's last name was Sussman.

octobereve 02-01-2005, 03:59 PM I could be wrong since it's been awhile since I've seen this episode, but wasn't it Ellen who came in, complaining that Richie had stomped on her foot at the end of the episode about how Rob and Laura first met, and Rob broke her foot? I can't remember the name of it.
Lolac 02-01-2005, 04:19 PM I could be wrong since it's been awhile since I've seen this episode, but wasn't it Ellen who came in, complaining that Richie had stomped on her foot at the end of the episode about how Rob and Laura first met, and Rob broke her foot? I can't remember the name of it.
The episode is "Oh How We Met the Night We Danced." And yes, the little girl's name is Ellen. She could have been Ellen Helper. We don't know for sure because they don't say she is the Ellen from next door, but it is very likely that it was her. So we've seen Ellen and Freddie. I know we've never seen Patti. Good memory, octobereve!
