I was in Subway the other day, and soon as I entered, I was treated like the invisible man. The workers could have said, "I'll be right with you." They didn't even say that. When they did take my order, the girl sighed like she didn't want to serve me. I'm sure she didn't. About a week before that, I was in McDonald's. It was slow, and the workers were, "chillin."
When I walked in, I heard the girl mumbled, "All man, I got a customer!" Soon, more customers entered and she said, "I'm not going to be able to do sh-t." I don't know how any of these peple end up with jobs. Anyone ever got this vibe before?

Yeah, especially at Dairy Queen. Any Dairy Queen I've ever been to the people have always been rude. I think they train them to be that way or something.

At another one, while handing me the food, the drive-through attendant says "Here!" Not "Thank You", or "have a nice day". Just, "Here!"

Exactly! It's nice to know that I wasn't the only one who did things like that. I worked at a grocery store for 3 years, and god did it suck. Customers asked the dumbest questions. I had a customer ask me "where the peanut butter was?" Now this wouldn't be a dumb question, except for the fact it says Peanut Butter over the aisle. Moron!

I worked in retail, so I know how the long hours and irritating customers can get to some people. There are some customers whom you have to be forceful with, but there is no excuse to be rude. I always try to be exceptionally nice and helpful when im working. There was this one woman who said she was going to email the company which I worked for and tell them how amazing of an employee I am, etc. It's a good feeling. But yeah, I think a lot of customers are rude to retail workers, and some people are just easier to irritate and have a low tolerance of people and so they take their anger out at the next customer or whatnot

I used to work in retail too, but we were still trained to be nice to the customers. Some customers do get on a person's nerves, but you can't stoop so low, especially when they are, "right." I used to work in this chicken joint, and I got cursed out because I put his food in a to-go container instead of a dine-in plate and he wanted to eat-in.

I worked at a supermarket for over five years and dealing with the general public can be a living Hell. I was never rude to a customer just for being there in the first place though. I've come across some really rude retail workers, but I try telling myself they must be having a really bad day. People are so rude and insensitive.

Ive been working at Shaws since Oct. 2001 and I must say Im pretty polite to the customers, considering some of the jerks I get. Ive noticed though that since transferring from Plaistow to N.Conway, the people up here arent as friendly and are more quick to bitch and moan. Anyways.
Today I was on express (where Ive been since Christmas Eve :rolleyes: and some old lady gave me the check to print out since we can do that. I asked her exact amount and she said yes. Then I gave her the receipt and she asked where her $10 was. I said that she said she wanted exact amount and she was all.. 'Oh! I meant $10 back though'. Meangya Im not a friggan mindreader.

Yeah, just this weekend at Pearle Vision. We sat there for like 40 mins before someone asked us if so-and-so was still working on my mom's glasses. :rolleyes: Being ingnored makes me angry and that gives me an anxiety attack. I had to go walk around the mall.

Wow, that sounds like the Subway here. You walk in, the woman looks at you, and then ignores you for a good five minutes. When she finally gets around to taking the order she rudely says, "What do you want?" She also has a mean look on her face the entire time. I stopped going to that one.

The building I work at has 2 floors. You can see that from the outside. So when I tell people to go upstairs, I've gotten to the point where I have to also say "2nd floor" because people kept asking "2nd floor?" Uh, yeah.

Also, we have a revolving automatic door. There's a button with a sign that says "Push Button to Slow." People push it to make it go faster, which in turn makes it go slower. And then they wonder why...

God Im totally with you Cathy when it comes to stupid people. I have people ask the same things all the time. We have a rewards card. In order to get the sales, you need the card to be scanned. Theyll buy a bunch of stuff and will be all 'thats supposed to be on sale, etc.' and Im like.. 'do you have your card?' and they say yes. So I keep scanning figuring theyll take it out at the end. Then they freak out because the discounts arent coming off. HELLO I NEED TO SCAN THE FRIGGAN CARD. We also have a brand new keypard for debit/credits. As soon as you slide your debit/credit card it says ENTER PIN OR PRESS CREDIT. People who choose to use debit stare at it for like 10 min. and are like.. wheres the debit button?! I swear people take stupid pills when they wake up. I need to write a book.

An old lady at Target kept telling the old guy to press cancel or something and he just stared at it and she gets all pissy with him. The problem was, there was no 'cancel' to even push. Oy!

Oh man, bad customer service touches a nerve with me. I worked retail for alot of years, and it does suck for the most part and I dealt with alot of a$$hole customers, so now I really try to be nice & patient now that I'm on the other side of the counter.

But I cannot stand being ignored or being treated like I'm an inconvenience. They need to realize that if it weren't for the customers, there wouldn't even be a business, much less a job. If you hate your job so much, find one where you aren't dealing with customers.

Yeah there are alot of retail workers with bad attitudes, but it goes both ways, I've been in stores where customers come in like they own the store and start bitching at the workers for no reason, sometimes it takes just one person with a bad attitude to bring your attitude down too :mad:

no he just doesnt take **** from crazy people. he actually likes his employees and doesnt like to see them getting treated like crap. he knows it took a lot for me not to bug on the lady since i have a short fuse.

I've stopped going to Hungry Jacks because EVERY TIME i go drive-thru,the young teenage morons in there always f*ck up my order.Now i was a teenager once,but i know i had more brains than some of these teenagers that work in there,and half of the kids in there obviously dont want to be working,so they take their negative mood out on customers,HELLO-THEY ARE THERE TO DO A DAMN JOB! If i was the manager and i saw my workers with long faces,I'd fire them on the spot.
I always leave the drive thru with a burger less,or something i didn't order in place of something i did,and they take FOREVER.I've stopped hiding my feelings now,recently i 'mumbled' "f*cking hopeless" under my breath,but loud enough for them to hear it.
Now i have just stopped going there,and i hope more people do the same.

ANOTHER TIME,I was at McDonalds and i only ordered a chocolate sundae,NOW HOW HARD IS THAT,well this girl managed to screw it up,FIRST,she didn't listen when i told her it was takeaway,so she grunted when i corrected her,and took out the icecream spoon,with icecream covering it,and HANDED it to ME! I just burst out laughing,i couldn't believe it! What the hell was i supposed to do with a damn icecream covered spoon! Then to top it all off,as she handed it to me,she dropped it,it rolled off the counter and down my skirt.Then i was kindly informed by the manager on duty that it was the girls first day!

I remember at McDonald's I ordered 3 cheeseburgers, and when I got home they had no meat in them. Either somebody played a practical joke or they messed up really bad. How do you forget the meat for the burgers? I took it back the manager apoligized, gave me fresh cheeseburgers, and an apple pie and sundae on the house.

Don't you hate when you get all the way home and then realize they messed up? I decided to try a place called Schlotsy's(sp?) Deli. They not only gave me the wrong sandwich, but the sandwich they gave me had all these sliced black olives in the sandwich, and the olives were melted into the cheese. I do not like any kind of olives. I, too, had gotten all the way home before I found this out. I didn't feel like going back, but I will never eat at SD again.

So I thought I had my door problem licked. I lock the automatic revolving doors at 5:15 and hang a sign instructing people to use the handicap door. I was hanging it to the left of the door, where no one bothered to even look at it. They'd walk into the revolving door and stand there, waiting for it to move. Then they'd push on it. Pissed me off frankly, so I decided I'm gonna hang it on the other side, where it's right in people's faces before they try to walk thru the door. First two people...it worked on. I thought yay! Then these two people did the same thing over again. :wallbang I mean, duh. If you walk up to it and it doesn't move, it's not going to. Some people need a damn neon sign.

Way back when I worked at BK, before they came out with their veggie burger, we had a veggie whopper and it was basically a bun & the condiments. I could never understand why anybody would order it, but people did.
