View Full Version : Room 222 on DVD?
seventies_sitcoms 01-09-2005, 03:06 PM Oh, I doubt it! This is one of those series that will decay over time like silent films and be totally forgotten. It would probably sell 100 copies and no station is likely to air it again. Forget TVLand! I would really like to see this show again. :(

No this show probably will never be on DVD or syndication. I do have Two eps of Room 222 on VHS if you are interested. If so my email is solomond@webtv.net
pscisme 10-19-2006, 08:27 PM It makes no sense that ROOM 222 has so completely vanished, considering how long it ran and what a great time capsule it makes! And what about the theme song? One of the best ever!
jamesanthony 10-31-2006, 09:58 PM This was a good series with very good actors in it, but let's face it, it wasn't an all out sitcom nor was it a straight drama like White Shadow and it's a show that screams that it was produced in the early 70s. Other than Denise Nicholas those actors are best known for this so it's not like there's a great demand to see some cast member before they made it big in some other hit. I'm probably one of the 100 people that would buy it on DVD, but like seventies said, forget about seeing it in the shop.
Scoobiedoo30 11-15-2006, 07:10 PM This is great that Room 222 is coming to DVD
OH Nuts! 08-10-2007, 02:16 AM God, how I wished they'd put Room 222 on DVD.
those70sshows 12-28-2007, 04:42 AM THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE THAT IT WILL END UP ON DVD.I THINK MOST SHOWS THAT RAN FOR MORE THAN 2 SEASONS WILL EVENTUALLY END UP ON DVD. WHEN ? IS THE QUESTION
tv star collector 12-28-2007, 08:59 AM I have seen more obscure shows than Room 222 that were advertised as available on DVD, so I wouldn't give up hope. (By the way, back in the
pre-video age, Room 222 was the first show that I taped on audio
cassette. It happened to be the final episode, with Michael Lembeck (later of
One Day at a Time) as a student who aspired to be a stand-up comic.
Coincidentally, his father was Harvey Lembeck (of Sgt. Bilko fame). I
still have that 34-year-old tape .. and, even more surprising, it still plays!)
bencasey 01-30-2008, 02:45 PM It's not going to come out because Fox, the studio that owns it, sucks.
TEXACO 12-13-2008, 09:37 PM I JUST FOUND OUT ON TVSHOWSONDVD.COM THAT ROOM 222 WILL BE OUT ON DVD IN MARCH.
Scoobiedoo30 12-14-2008, 03:45 PM that is very good news.
catlover79 12-14-2008, 04:47 PM I'd love to see this show - especially because I think Michael Constantine is a fine actor (loved him as the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding).
bencasey 12-15-2008, 04:31 AM I have all but 4 of them but it'll be nice if they get remastered. Mine are all off the faded 16mm prints that stations used to run. Fox never bothered to put the shows to tape and that's why it hasn't run in so long.
Scoobiedoo30 12-15-2008, 12:10 PM I was wondering what date in March is Room 222 coming out on DVD.
TeeVeeCloset 12-15-2008, 08:17 PM According to www.tvshowsondvd.com, they have confirmed that Shout Factory will release season one of "Room 222" on March 24, 2009....at first the amazon listing was the usual "sign up and we will notify you when this title becomes available"....now the listing actually lets you pre-order this 4 disc set for a little over $10! with a suppose retail of $14.99...this has to be a mistake, the studio listing is wrong as well.....but I ordered it anyway but I'm thinking they will suspend that listing when cover art and further details are provided by Shout....anyone else have thoughts, shouldn't they have to honor the pre-order price, no matter how wrong it may be?
OH Nuts! 03-19-2009, 08:18 AM I am so looking forward to Mar. 24. J & R said they'd have it on the 24th and if its reasonably priced I'm going to buy it on the spot. They're not far from where I work so its easy to just go there. I remember when the last SHOUT! Adv.O & H set came out - J & R had it on the release date promised.
I was in H.S. when Room 222 first came out, so its going to be very nostalgic revisiting it. I really enjoyed many characters on the show.

What a great show this was. There are two episodes on youtube- one has Stan Livingston from My 3 Sons and the other is an episode from season 3 (mistitled as the pilot). I guess more will pop up when the DVDs come out.
The ep. with Stan Livingston gives a lot of screen time to Bernie and Jason- so refreshing to see this interracial friendship that was played very naturally by the two actors.
OH Nuts! 03-21-2009, 05:35 PM Well I double-checked with a mgr. at J & R and she said they were going to have it on the 24th. I'm all revved up and raring to go. I have a special av all picked out for the 24th and gonna get my post count to 20,222 & keep it there in honor of the day. Can hardly wait. This show has been on my wish list for years!!!

When I went onto Youtube yesterday and searched Room 222 it brought up some Karen Valentine videos. And many of them had some Room 222 eps in them - but I think most were from Season 1 which is coming out this Tues.
