I looked on my tv guide channel for tonight and it says Complete Savages isn't on...instead 8 simple rules....

and i look online at the episode guide and for the dates in 05 it says TBA

What do you think...they just taking a break...or will it be back?

maybe the tv guide is wrong..lets hope

Special one hour 8 Simple Rules tonight. Savages return next Friday with an all-new episode. The week after that, has Haylie Duff guest starring.

It'll be nice to finally see a new episode of Savages again.

I've heard it was picked up for a second season, but I can't remember where I heard it, nor do I know how reliable the source was.

That decision will be made in May. May 17 to be exact.

Things dont look good for the show...

ABC said BYE BYE to Life as we know It, and
mentioned that CS is on the rail to be cancelled...

ABC has pulled Savages starting next week, and will probably air the remaining episodes in March:

ABC is cutting back its commitment to Mel Gibson-produced laffer "Complete Savages."

ABC has sliced its order for "Savages" to 19 episodes, down from the 22 it had greenlit, and is pulling the NBC U TV Studio-produced series from its lineup immediately.

In its place ABC will air repeats of "8 Simple Rules" Fridays at 8:30 p.m. "Savages" is expected to return in March.

Aw Man, That Bites.

Two Years In A Row my Favorite New Sitcom is cancelled. Last year with Married To The Kellys and this year with Savages. :(

I would like to shake the hand of the man who made this decision.

...And tear it off.

I think the show was cancelled because it was getting sub-par ratings, and wasn't owned by ABC/Disney/Touchstone.

Had it been a Touchstone series, I think they would have been pleased enough with the ratings to keep it on the air.

As much as I like the majority of ABC's sitcoms.... I just have a feeling that they'll keep them on the air until the 5 season mark, where they will get back the money from having sub-par ratings in the form of syndication.

I think the main reason for the cancelation was proven the past two weeks. There was a big drop from 8 Simple Rules to Complete Savages. Now, with double 8 Simple Rules, the 8:30 encore has a MUCH MUCH better retention of 8pm. Also, Hope & Faith has a better lead-in and has hit a season high this past Friday. As did Less Than Perfect.

CS was good.... but I'd rather see 8SR and LTP survive.

I agree, 8SR has really come into it's own this season, the show keeps getting better and better, and Less Than Perfect is my favorite TGIF show :)

LTP is ABC's best sitcom IMO.

It sure is, I can't think of a bad episode of LTP. Some people have said that LTP reminds them of Wings, it does to me in a way :)

I can see that. It definately has a Wings/Murphy Brown feel to it. Most likely because it's the only workplace comedy on TV. Other than Scrubs, but that's a rare exception.
