I think I understood it....I'm a little confused by Frank, though....
In case this is what you were confused about.....
--SPOILERS to Donnie Darko ahead!--
I think at the end the reason why Cherita Chan was smiling because she remembers what happened in the tangent universe but figured it was all a dream and remembered Donnie talking to her and Donnie remembered everything from the tangent universe and purposely wanted to die so that he wouldn't get to know the red head girl (forgot her name) so that she wouldn't get hit by that car and die.

I was really surprised by it, the film is of so much quality. Despite getting some nominations here and there, I still think the film was widely overlooked. "********** */**" was interesting and sensational, but "Some Kind of Monster" was a REAL documentary.
I'm sure you will like every second of it.
phoebe7165 01-12-2005, 11:59 PM I have seen The Color Purple soooo many times and I still cry at the same places, every time!!! When Mister kicks Nettie out of the house; when Celie & Shug find all the letters from Nettie, and they're reading them; when Shug reconciles with her father; and of course, when Celie reunites with Nettie and meets her children for the first time since they were babies. But I love the part at the dinner table when Mister finds out Celie is going with Shug, and Sophia cracks me up. "Sophia's back, pass me them peas!"
Cherry Lips 01-13-2005, 05:16 AM I've seen Donnie Darko & Forrest Gump. I didn't think there was anything outstanding about both of those films.
webuster 01-13-2005, 12:51 PM I think A Clockwork Orange and Forrest Gump are both very good films, but not in my top movies. However, Rosemary's Baby and Donnie Darko ARE- they're both excellent movies.
