Superstation WGN will get the exclusive analog-tier rights to UPN sitcom Moesha starting Sept. 10 for 4 years.
The Tribune Broadcasting Co.-owned channel will likely run the series -- which features pop star Brandy in the title role -- weekdays in early fringe (5 p.m.-7 p.m. EST) and on weekend afternoons.
Moesha was part of UPN’s Monday and Tuesday primetime sitcom blocks for six years, from January 1996 through the 2001-02 broadcast season and in national broadcast syndication from 2000 to 2002, where it averaged a 1.1 rating in the second of its two-year run.
WGN reaches more than 65 million TV households.
