View Full Version : I'd Like to Know How Some People...
dawsongirl 01-04-2005, 10:03 PM get thru life. Lemme explain. I get this call at work. Now, it is NOT my responsibility to call anyone; I just answer and transfer. So this lady asks if I called her. I ask her what department or what doctor called her. She says all snotty to me that she didn't know and blah blah blah. Before I can say anything else, she spits out at me "Don't ever call me again." You'd think we were stalking her or something! Some department obviously called her by mistake. Well, that's not my problem. And why get all snotty about a wrong number? I'd like to know how some people get thru life being complete asses...how can anyone live like that? Ahhhhh!
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 01-05-2005, 12:55 AM Some people just dont care and it sucks. Theyll treat anyone like crap.
Jrnygrl 01-05-2005, 01:24 AM I used to go through that alot when I was a receptionist. I know how you feel these people are angry and any little thing sets them off.

 And it's always my fault. Life goes on I guess. Just sucks the life out of your day.

Nothing's more annoying than the "well it's not as bad as..." comment.
I know what you mean Cathy. I take things so personally and if someone says one negative thing to me, I over analyze it and think about it over and over. It makes me scared to ever get a job that involves customer service.

I agree. If we live by that motto, nobody can complain about anything. This is Sitcoms Online. As tragic as the disaster is, it doesn't mean we can't share our problems on these boards.
Sorry you encountered such a bitch Cathy. That woman is miserable, and I'm sure she spends her days terrorizing the checkout person in the grocery store, the bank teller, the waitperson in the restaurant, etc. It's unfortunate that you landed in her line of fire.

I take it personally too. Most people that call or come in are nice, but every now and then you get a person who thinks you owe them something or you're inconveniencing them. I could just let them wander all over the building trying to find what they're looking for, or they could ask nicely and put up with the fact that I don't know where all 50 doctors in the building are. Or just laugh off getting someone else's phone call. Seeing a doctor is stressful, but one can only smile and nod so much before quietly going insane.

She sounded like an older lady, and I've noticed there are two kinds of old ladies...really nice ones, or really bitchy ones. I haven't seen the middle yet.

Well, if I were answering the phone in Sri Lanka, it'd be much worse.
Because I don't speak their language. That would just be a huge pain. *sigh*
:tiphat:

Thats EXACTLY my problem. If someone says something about me and i know about it,i dont forget it.I let it get to me and then i start analyzing it,and come up with things i could have said back to the person, but missed my chance.I'm not exactly the most upfront person, and i am terrified of confrontation,so i dont say whats on my mind, even if i have something to say.I'll repeat it later to my friends who say to me,"Next time youve gotta tell them that!" They're right, its not doing me any good to bitch to them later on about someone.I just wish i had more guts, because i have many 'cruel' things i could say back to people, but i just dont say it.

Why reply if you're just going to be nasty? Why don't you go out and raise money for the homeless and cold Americans you feel so bad about if you have all this freetime?

What? If I've ever been snotty on the phone, it was with some persistant telemarketer who wouldn't take no for an answer. Not with some receptionist or with someone who made an innocent wrong number.
This woman must be your mother.
