Just a friendly warning, this thread is for discussing the episode "Home Again" and thus, will contain spoilers for the episode. No spoilers for future episodes, please.

Well...

After six weeks without American Dreams a new episode has finally aired. And, with it, questions have been answered and I am sure a lot of people have been made very, very happy, eh?

There was an awful lot packed into this episode. JJ sleeping at Pete's, Meg wanting to go to college but backing out because of Chris, Helen attending and helping with a peace organization, Uncle Pete getting serious about Shelly, Nathan and his boat, JJ having flashbacks and drinking, Chris telling Patty to sabotage a science project, JJ and Beth getting back together (literally and figuretively) AND working on the marriage angle...

Quite a lot of drama. And next week's episode looks like more of the same. More drama, more surprises. Good stuff.

I am hopeful that this episode will do well up against repeats on the other networks. But if NBC did not promote it enough, people may simple not know a new episode is airing. And that could be bad. We will just have to wait for the ratings.

Tonights episode was great....but I almost missed it. I didn't see any advertising from NBC over the holidays that American Dreams was going to air tonight. Do you think JJ will go thru with the wedding?

I thought tonight was good and no they never advertised that AD was returning tonight a majority of us found out but hanging out at this forum so anyone whom posts here knew it was on and probably watched it or taped if they were out.

However Chris pissed me off whom the heck does he think he is telling Meg what she should do I hope he is drafted or gets his butt thrown in jail for life and hopefully by the look of next weeks Meg dumps this jerk.

And never sees or hangs with him again. Maybe he can be sent away to reform school and we never have to see him on the show again. :)

American Dreams - a favorite of mine --- and I have learned it is a favorite of a lot of my friends and relatives. The timeliness in regard to VietNam and Iraq is especially appreciated. And I certainly hope there are more than three more episodes left in this season.

Anyway - a comment/question for moderator or everyone...pertaining to the Jan 2nd episode.

I think the actress playing the Catholic "peace woman" speaking at the meeting 'mom' went to looked like Ellen Geer. Immediately upon seeing her I was reminded of Sunshine Dore' in Harold and Maude. I had to do some research to come up with her name.

But her name was not in the credits --- perhaps her role was too small or I do not know where to look. Can someone check this out?

Happy to have joined here...this is an exceptional show. I lived thru these times as a young Catholic mom. I watch it with my 20 year old granddaughter. Thanks for having this site available.

Hi Sharon...

Welcome to the board.

I think one of the greatest things about American Dreams is that we can watch it with the entire family.

tvobscurities covered most of it, but I would also like to mention Nathan.... He is sure turning out to be a neat guy... Who'd a thunk it.....

I still love Jack and Henry together too.... Well, I just love Jack period... :)

It's wonderful to have our show back.

Trish

You're right - there were very few AD previews on NBC leading up to the return episode. I checked NBC.com. They have some info on next week's episode, but not much. Seems like Beth and JJ will end up married, but might not go through with a Catholic wedding. Maybe because of John (Trip)? I wish those two would just get it together!
Great to see that Nathan is turning out to be such a guy. Too bad Chris is so horrible. I think Meg's making a mistake with him.

I've watched "Home Again" 3 times now. I liked it alright. I think Patty realized that she shouldn't have broke that girl's science fair project.
I love seeing Beth & JJ back together.
I hope it's not too long until Meg breaks up with Chris. He just gets on my nerves.
The next episode looks good. Oh, and does anyone know if AD will be on the 16th? That's when the Golden Globes are on & they'll probably be on at AD time on NBC.

Have you seen the previews for next week - Meg and Chris sleep together! I think he ends up breaking her heart in the end, and I wish they would not have let it go this far. The writers need to give her a good guy!

Can't wait until the big wedding episode - isn't it coming up in the next few weeks?

The writers seem to be developing Patty's character more, which is good to see.
