View Full Version : Worst Show
Foreman 12-28-2004, 02:39 PM This is one of the worst show I've ever seen.
The only reason the so called "critics" give it a good review is that it is a Ron Howard production, and they are naturally kissing his butt!
I beg to differ.
"Arrested Development" is arguably the best comedy on TV right now.

I agree, this show is hilarious....
Troll.
stratman 01-06-2005, 12:38 AM I am also going to agree. This show is hilarious. It's not quite as 'on-the-nose' funny' as the regular sitcom but it is very funny. The writing is absolutely stellar.

You must have not seen very many shows then. ;)
dandelion wine 01-08-2005, 10:59 PM Come on, this show deserves a lot more credit. Well, in my opinion. Ron Howard's involvement does not mean they're "kissing his ass." And if this is the worst show you've ever seen... you really need to watch more tv.
DukeDevils9192 01-08-2005, 11:56 PM I think you either get the show or you don't. There's really no middle ground. I don't get it. At all. But, others seem to and I'm happy to see Ron Howard succeed at this and the actors all seem really into their roles. I kind of wish I got it.
stratman 01-10-2005, 12:18 AM There's a show in Australia called 'Kath and Kim' that I think has the same kind of reputation as 'Arrested Development'. I've seen it and I absolutely hate it, but it's very popular. TV comedy is very subjective.
Cherry Lips 01-14-2005, 04:37 AM I like it because it's different and weird. I don't find it funny though.
There's a show in Australia called 'Kath and Kim'.
I love that show.

I totally agree, i love it, but my folks say "how is that funny", its the same sort of humor as Curb Your Enthusiasm.. They are both fantastic series.
PS: [I]I love Kath and Kim, from what ive seen of it, its actually becomming really popular over here in England.
stratman 01-24-2005, 12:33 AM I think it's being show in the staes, as well.
journey1978 01-30-2005, 11:18 PM i like the show, i have watched it every week
pokerchip 03-03-2005, 04:19 PM AD is an amazing show, I don't know how anyone can talk trash about it. I could see maybe if someone liked a similar show better, but there are no similar shows. I think Fox has got to know this and will keep it around.
stratman 03-04-2005, 01:00 AM The boxset has great extra's, as well.
DivaDee 04-23-2005, 05:05 PM I have to admit, I was shocked to hear all the good hype about this show. I have watched about six different episodes, and I just don't see it. I have tried, but wow... I guess I fall into the "hate it" category. Sorry guys.

Ron Howard's involvement in the show is the most amazing thing about Arrested Development to me. This groundbreaking show has NOTHING to do with the bland, sappy movies he usually directs, at all. The show has a well-earned reputation as a landmark sitcom, and I believe we can already speak in terms of "before" and "after" Arrested Development.
stratman 07-10-2005, 10:53 AM I love his voice-overs.
Norm's Stool 07-10-2005, 11:47 AM Yeah, he's great at that. His voice just fits perfectly.
robby76 07-10-2005, 12:23 PM I agree with original post - the comedy is so basic - I get the jokes, I just think it's juvenile. Like violin music playing in one scene to create atmosphere and suddenly it cuts to the dumb guy playing the cello on the balcony... how corny! And the "there's money in the banana stall"... tries to be clever yet fails miserably.
TheWhiteStripe 08-07-2005, 10:30 PM This show is the best show that was ever/is/will ever be on television.

Just like you have a brain or you don't.
This would be a person who finds Family Mathers funny.

Exactly, a lot of the things in this show make you think. Its not just slapstick humor, but I wont say that none of it is dumb humor.
