I've decided to write a Cheers fanfic, being I can't find any others. It will be set next year(summer, i guess) as a reunion movie.

Summary(tell me if this sounds lame lol): A few years after Cheers closed in 1993, Melvilles closed too, and the building was closed, but not put up for sale. Now, Sam returns with some friends as he hears Coach had left a large sum of money somewhere on in the bar. Whoever finds it gets it. Of course, he brings back the bar regulars to help...and some other old friends show up too. It will go from there.

Cliff: You know, Sam, I bet with all of our work, we can fix this place up...you know, get it working again.
Sam: Cliff, we're here to find Coach's last memory to us, not to clean this place up...remember...I closed it for a reason.
Cliff: Right, Sam.
Sam<claps and rubs his hands together>: OK, let's figure out where Coach left that money!
<Everyone starts walking around, taking out bricks, etc.>
Woody: Sam?
Sam: Yeah, Woody?
Woody: What does the money look like?
Sam: I don't know Woody. I was told by Coach's old lawyer that 17 years after he was deceased, I was to be told about this money.
Tim: 17 years? That's odd.
Sam: Hey, it was Coach...what do you expect?
<Then, Norm enters with tools.>
Norm: Afternoon, everybody.
Everyone: NORM!
Norm: Hey, Sammy, pass me a cold one.
<Sam reaches in his pocket and pulls out a picture and tosses it at Norm.>
Norm: Vera! Where did you get this?!
Sam: Hey, you asked for a cold one!
Norm: Sam...I'll ask you again...
<Walks up to him, and grabs his by the collar>
Where did you get the picture???
Sam: Norm, easy, man! I have my ways. <He smiles>
Woody: Heh heh! I get it! Cold one...Vera...haha.
<Everyone looks at him>
<Then, Rebecca shows up at the door with her husband.>
Rebecca<Leaning on doorway>: Sam Malone...how could you come back and not tell me.
Sam: Rebecca!
Rebecca: Hey Sam!
<They hug>
Woody: Hey, Miss Howe.
Rebecca: Woody, you haven't worked for me in over ten years...I think you can call me by my first name now.
Woody: OK...Miss Howe.
<He gets back to work.>
Rebecca: So, Sam, why ARE you back here.
Sam: Well, before Woody, the second bartender was named Coach...
Rebecca: Yours?
Sam: Yeah, mine. And I just found out he left more than $1 million dollars somewhere in here, and whoever finds it first gets to keep it!
Rebecca: Well, that's nice. Can me and Robin join?
<Sam looks at they couple, all nicely dressed>
Sam: Uh...uh...sure, why not?
Robin: Great...let's get going honey.
<They walk into the back room and start looking. Sam bites his fist.>


Who should show up next? I was thinking Carla...

Norm: Well, I guess it's about time you've seen Vera...
Sam: Hey, how have you two been?
Norm: Well, pretty much the same. I come home late...I find myself locked out...and I go over to the neighbors house and sleep with her.
Sam: <laughs> Well, that's great. Hey, why don't you start looking, too, OK? And how did you find out about this?
Norm: Cliff told me.
Sam: Cliff...what?...
<Cliff walks in with his mail uniform on and a sack of mail still on him>
Cliff: Well, hey there everyone.
Sam: Cliff! How you been?
Cliff: Sammy! I'm doing pretty well...
Sam: I see your on the job.
Cliff: What? Oh, this, I just came by to see what's going on.
Sam: Cliff, I asked you to help.
Cliff: You did? Oh! Then, let me get started!
<He throws his sack down and runs over to a wall and starts pushing on bricks. Sam pushes his hair back and shakes his head, smiling. Then, Woody appears at the door.>
Sam: Woody, how you've been doin', man?
Woody: Hey, Sam!<they shake hands, then hug>
Sam: How's Kelly?
Woody: She's great, Sam. We have three little Boyd's running around now!
Sam: Really, that's great! I bet they aren't that big anymore.
<Woody gives him a blank stare>
Sam: Well, anyway, it looks like you're ready to work!
Woody: You bet I am! I never met Coach, but he's the only reason why I came to Boston.
Sam: Yeah! That's right, go get started, buddy.
<Woody walks off, saying Hi to some others. Then Rebecca shows up at the door.>
Rebecca<Leaning on doorway>: Sam Malone...how could you come back and not tell me?
Sam: Rebecca!
Rebecca: Hey Sam!
<They hug>
Woody:<walking over> Hey, Miss Howe.

Carla<grunts>: OK, Sam! It'd better be important why you called me down here! I was in the middle of feeding!
Sam: Carla! How are you?
<She puts down the kids and they hug.>
Sam: When did you have these?
Carla: Sam, you treat my children like they were inanimate objects...I'm hurt.
Sam: When...
Carla: Six months ago.
<Sam nods his head, smiling>
Carla: So why did you bring me...back?
Sam: Carla, I got a call from Coach's lawyer...
Carla: Coach? Really? After all these years?
Sam: Yeah, it turns out that Coach left over a million dollars SOMEWHERE in the bar, and whoever finds it first gets to keeps it!
Carla: Really?
Sam: Yeah!
Carla: Outta my way!<She plows past Sam and starts tapping the walls.>
Sam: What about your kids?
Carla: Let them look too!

I'm Diane Chambers, and I'd like to be in the story too! I am also going to write my own conclusion to my life, if you don't mind. You may finish writing yours...I would love to read it...but as for Sam and I, I'd like to think about that one, and write it myself! Thank you.

sorry, but i didnt completely get ur message. i got that u are gonna write ur own story on how Diane and Sam ended up, but it would be a different fan fiction. Our stories don't have to coincide.(and we can really distinct that when u start writing urs!)

Sam<eyes big, surprised>: Di...Diane! Wha...what are you doing here? Lo...look!<pointing to the cars>
Diane: Oh, I don't care.
Taxi Driver: Hey, lady!
Diane: Oh, so sorry!<Runs over to him>I'll be getting out here.<pays him> There you go!
<The driver grunts and drives away. The cars behind it also drive by, glaring at Diane, but she ignores them>
Sam: What are you doing here?
Diane: Oh, Sam...I'm in Boston, writing!
Sam: Writing what?
Diane: Well, the biggest studio in Hollywood, Faramount, signed me to a one year contract of a new sitcom their developing...it's called "Bottom's Up".
Sam: What's it about?
Diane: Oh, it's kinda boring. Personally, I don't think it'll make it. So far, all the critics I've talked to hate it too.
Sam: Well, what's it about?
Diane: Oh, sorry! It's about a bar in Chicago and the owner is a retired football player who's just gotten off drugs, and a lady comes in, romance sparks, and they get together. Pretty stupid if you ask me.
Sam: Yeah, it is pretty dumb.
Diane: So why are YOU here?
Sam: What? Oh, remember Coach? I found out the he left over a million dollars in the bar, and whoever finds it first gets to keep it.
Woody<walking up the steps>: Well, hey there Miss Chambers!
Diane<hugging>: Woody! How are you?
Woody: Pretty good...I've moved up in office...
Diane<still doesn't know he really IS in office>: Well, good for you!
Sam: What did you want, Woody?
Woody: Oh, I was just wondering...you said you just wanted to find the money and get out...the more and more I see, the more and more it seems like you want to stay.
Sam: Like what have I done?
Woody: Like, you're cleaning the sign.
Sam: Well, so I am...didn't even notice that I was doing something besides looking for the money.
Diane<smiles>: Sam...
Sam: What?
Diane: Sam...I think that you DO want to stay...I think you may...want to reopen it.
Sam: WHAT? No way, Diane, come on down, and I'll show you that I don't want to reopen it!
<All three walk down the steps>
Norm: Hey, look everyone! It's Diane!
<everyone says Hi. Diane looks around>
Sam: Oh, sorry, left my bucket there.<he picks up a bucket of water and a wash rag>
Diane<turning towards him so her back is facing the back room>: Sam...you're cleaning the bar...I think that means something.
<then Carla walks out from the back room, where she was working with Rebecca>
Carla: Hey Sam, we need...
<Diane turns around. Carla screams and jumps over the bar, and hides behind it>
Carla: WHAT is SHE doing HERE?!?!?!?<peeking her head up>
Diane: Hi, Carla!<cheerfully>
Carla<reaching down her shirt, and pulling a cross on her necklace out>: Stay away! OK! Away!
<Rebecca walks out>
Rebecca: Sam, I...<stops when she sees Diane>
Diane<sarcastically>: I see you've brought everybody back.
Sam: Not quite...

<At Boston International Airport; Frasier brings the cast from his show "Frasier">
Martin(Frasier's dad): Frasier! Hurry up!
<Frasier walks by, struggling to carry everyone's luggage>
Daphne(Martin's live-in care provider): Seriously, Frasier, I don't know why you let him do that.
Frasier: What?!
Daphne: Let him boss you around.
Frasier: Well, you can tell him...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!<Frasier trips on Martin's terrier, Eddie, spilling luggage all over the place and falling down>
Niles: You know, Frais, I could have handled that...you should have just asked me.
<Frasier grunts as he is helped up>
Roz: It was so nice for you to invite me out to see your old friends, Frasier.
Frasier: Well, it couldn't be called a visit. You guys get to stay at a luxurious mansion while I help my friends clean out a bar!
Martin: Stop complaining and start cleaning!

<At that same time, Lilith is arriving at another part of the airport, for a psychiatrist's convention. She walks to the exit and sees a group of people right in front of her. One man is carrying lots of luggage.>
Lilith: That man shouldn't be carrying all of that...it might cause him stress.
<She walks up to him and taps him on the shoulder>
Lilith: Sir...
<Frasier turns around, and they both scream, with Frasier dropping the luggage again>
Lilith: Frasier!
Frasier: Lilith!
Both: What are you doing here?
Martin: Frasier! You dropped it again! And almost squished little Eddie here!
Daphne: Come on, let's clean it up while Frasier talks to his old girlfriend...
Lilith: Frasier, why are you here?
Frasier: Well, why are you here?
Lilith: There's a pyschiatrist's convention in town...and you?
Frasier: Well...well...Sam called me back to Cheers...they've found some money in it or something.
Lilith: Money<nods her head, thinking about it>...you know what? The convention isn't that important...let me help you.
Frasier: Well, sure, I mean, I guess...why not!
Niles: Frasier! I got a taxi! Come on!

<Back at the bar, Sam is sitting on a stool, rubbing his forehead. Diane and Rebecca are screaming at each other, and Carla keeps circling Diane with her cross. Norm brought a dozen six-packs of beer, so the rest of the people are just drinking and talking, not working.>
Frasier<arrives at the door>: Hello, Sam.
Sam<looks up and smiles, going to greet Frasier>: Frasier! Frasier, how are you?
Frasier: I'm good Sam...which is more than I can say for...
Lilith<walks down the steps and appears behind Frasier>: Hello Sam.
Sam: Lilith! Frasier! You two...aren't...
Both: No, of course not. That's ridiculous! Etc...
Sam: OK...are you two here to work?
Frasier: Yeah.
Sam: Hey...who's that up there?
Frasier: Oh, just some family and friends I brought with me. They're heading up to Hampshire House.
Sam: Oh, really? Tell them to come in!
Frasier: No, that's really no necessary.<waves his hands towards up the steps. he hears "OK!" and a car driving away>

Oooohhh, this is getting really good!

I love it! Rebecca and Diane's fighting needs to have words! I love girls fighting over one guy!!!

I say we write a story, send it to NBC or whatever, and have everyone we know sign it, wether they like Cheers or not. I mean, if we can get it in demand, we could probably get at least an email back! I can get over 400 people to sign something like that! I think We should do what we are planning, Doug, and send it!

theres another good idea, but there's something I've learned from past experiences w/ big TV corporations(namely Disney ABC)...they dont listen to any "outside idea." but yeah...lets send it in w/ all the names...the more support for a reunion, the better chances they'll actually do one! but of course, we'll get nothing...(cept the movie! )

I told my English teacher and she says weirder things have happened. She thinks that is how so many reunions take place. A lot of people get together and write a petition for it. Everyone who is in, email me or FOLN@NFan and give us your name. I am seriously going to do this!

<Diane slaps her forehead.>
Diane: Sam!...<sighs>
Andy: Money!? Oh, goody. What do I have to do?
Sam: Um, just start looking, and if you see anything important, tell me, OK?
Andy: Great Sam!
<He walks off, starting to search. As he walks by Cliff and Norm, he says Hi to them. They just stare at him in horror.>
Andy: Hi guys.
<After he walks by:>
Norm: Uh...wasn't that...
Cliff: Andy?
Norm: The man who almost killed Diane?
Cliff: The one and only.
Norm: I'm sure not the only.
Cliff: Only?
Norm: The only one to try to kill Diane.
Both: Oh! <They go back to drinking and talking.>
Diane: Who else could possibly show up??
<Sam shrugs. Then, from behind, someone says, "Who needs some money?">
Harry (the Hat): Hey everybody!
Diane: Great...maybe I should keep my mouth shut.
Carla: She speaks good for once.

<That night, everyone is sitting around the bar or at a table, worn out.>
Woody: Sam, I really think Coach was a good man...I mean, he sent out a mean bartending-by-mail class, but, I think he was pulling your leg here.
Sam: Woody, I'd say your right, but if you knew Coach, you would know that he was telling the truth here.
Carla: You sure about that Sam?
Cliff: Yeah, Sam, I mean, Coach was a good man and all, but hiding money in the bar?
Norm: And you find out seventeen years after he died? Come on, Sammy, look at the facts.
Sam: No!<stands up> I knew Coach the best out of any of you, and I know he's telling the truth!
<He storms into his old office.>
Carla: Does he realize that no ones been in there for nine years?
Diane AND Rebecca: I better check on him.
<They look at each other.>
Both: We'll both go!
<They go into the office, and we hear them gasp. Everyone runs and crowds inside it, also amazed.>
Frasier: Sam...it's...your office...
Sam: Thank you Frasier.
Lilith: But Sam...your office...is clean!
<Everyone looks around to see his office as clean as it could be; every wall sparkling, the desk and chair shining.>
Rebecca: When did you do this Sam?
Sam: Remember earlier today when I said I'd gone out to lunch? Well, I didn't. I snuck back in here through the restroom, and cleaned my office.
Diane<smiling>: Sam...I think it's true...what I said earlier.
Sam: What? Oh, no it isn't Diane!
Diane: Is to!
Sam: Is not!
Diane: Is to!
Sam: Is not!
Diane: Is to!
Sam: Is not!
Carla: OK! OK! Enough! Now what's the stick talking about?
Sam: Diane, here, thinks that I want to reopen the bar just because I'm cleaning it. Crazy, right?
<Everyone just gives him a stare. Then they hear the door open, and two voice giggling.>
Man: Hello?
Woman: Hello? Anyone?<mutters> why is this place so dirty?
<Everyone walks out, and again, gasps. We see it is Don, Rebecca's husband, and Kelly, Woody's wife, arm in arm. Everyone in the room looks shocked.>

<Hours later, everyone is still in the bar. The two couples are in the back room, sitting in silence.>
Rebecca: Well...how did you two meet?
Don: Honey...believe me...it was totally innocent. When you said you were going away on business for awhile, I thought I'd go on vacation!
Kelly: And Woody! Same here, when you said you were going back to Cheers...I decided to come to Boston too...but on the plane, I met...Don, here.
Rebecca: But what were you doing on a plane with her?
Woody: And...and...how did you end up here, at Cheers?
Kelly: Woody, I would never hurt you. On the plane, I met him, and he seemed like a nice guy. So I talked to him...we had no alterier motives in mind.
Rebecca: I wish I could believe that.<she wipes a tear from her eye, and runs out of the back room.>
Woody: Kelly...if you leave now, I'll forget that this happened.
Kelly: Here?
Woody: No, home's in Illinois! Were you thinking of trying to trick me??
<He shakes his head, and also leaves the back room. Kelly also shakes her head, almost smiling.>
Don: So...
Kelly: I guess...we were a...coincidental couple.
Don: Yeah...
Kelly: Yeah...
Don: Well, goodbye...nice knowing you.
Kelly: Yes, you too.
<As they start walking out, they stop.>
Kelly: Didn't we meet?
Don: Before the bar closed.
<They think for a moment. Then Kelly bursts out laughing. Soon, so does Don. Back out in the bar...>
Diane: So what do we do now?
Sam: With what? The...couple problem...or the money?
Diane: Sam...be serious.
Harry: The money!
Carla: Shut up Harry!
<They look up when they hear a pair of legs on the steps. They turn around and see a male figure open the door.>
Diane: Sumner!
Frasier<mutters>: Sumner Sloan...good ol' grrrrrrr...
Sumner: Diane!
Sam: Sumner! What are you doing here?
Sumner: Sam old man! I saw the light on, and decided to investigate. Didn't you close, let's see, what was it...nine years ago?
Sam: Yeah.
Sumner: So what are you doing back?
Sam: We...
Diane: Uh! We...we...we're back here because we having a reunion!
<Sumner looks around at the dusty bar.>
Sumner: Nice party! Mind if I join?
Diane: Wh...why?
Norm(whispers-sings to Cliff): Sumner likes Diane...Sumner likes Diane! (they both crack up)
<They are interrupted when Don and Kelly walk out from the back room, still laughing.>
Don: We realized why we thought each other was so familiar!
Kelly: We met before the bar closed! Haha...now I remember it so clearly. I'm embarresassed that I didn't recognize him!
Rebecca: You guys are laughing?
Sam: Come on...I mean, your marriages are at stake, and you're having a good time together.
Carla: That didn't stop my husbands!
Sam: Carla...
Carla: OK, OK...
<They hear a horrible noise at the top of the steps. They soon realize it is singing, and see three pairs of legs walk down the steps. The three men walk in.>
Sam: Nick!
Woody: Eddie!
Carla: St...St...Stephen!!
<They see another pair of legs, a woman, run down the steps.>
Loretta: (cheerfully)Hi, gang at Cheers! (then her mood changes in an instant to raging mad) Nick Tortelli! You told me you would stop drinking after three, but no! You stopped at twenty-five!
Norm: Hey, she can count to 25!
<Cliff hits him in the arm, and and calms down.>
Diane: Well, well, the gang's all here.

um....i don't know if you would mind some criticism doug...but i'll give it to you anyways. Ok, I don't really think that rebecca and diane would be fighting over Sam. I mean they barely met each other 10 years ago...im sorry it just sounds kind of unrealistic. Plus Rebecca never loved Sam, I mean they were best friends it just doesn't make sense. Another thing is, don't you think your bringing back way too many characters? I mean its going to be a little hard to handle. Overall its a good plot.
