I used to watch this all the time.... it was a great schedule and great channel.

One thing I notice about this and the other lists posted by Webwarrior is that there was no repetition of shows during the day; now in my area there is a channel that airs Will and Grace 3x a day, another that has 2 episodes each of Who's the Boss, Cosby Show, The Parkers, King of Queens and Girlfriends. Almost every off network syndicated show in my area airs multiple episodes a week. There was more variety in the old days. Also there was a sign off so the presumption was that most people actually went to bed at some point.

When I lived overseas in the 70s and 80s there was only 1 channel that would sign on at 9, sign off at noon (the crew went home for lunch) sign on again at 3:45 and sign off at about midnight. The shows would start at odd times like 5 minutes after the hour and transmission problems would sometimes throw the whole schedule off for the day. Most of the shows were American reruns (in primetime a show could be maybe 2 seasons old) and offnetwork repeats (all of which were shown uncut with local commercials in between- I saw one hour reruns of Love American Style and Carol Burnett had the musical numbers left in).

They used to air the most obscure shows that I had never heard of in America, things like the Magician, Young Lawyers, Barefoot in the Park, Me and the Chimp, Julia, When Things Were Rotten etc and with the exception of something like Sesame Street which came on 2x a day like it does here in the states these American reruns only came on once or twice a week, which made for much more interesting and less addictive tv viewing on my part.

You're right theres too much repition these days. in my area i can see Will and Grace 4 times a day on 3 different stations, The Golden Girls at least 8 times a day and thats just with Lifetime. And Seinfeld, The Simpsons and Fear Factor something like 9 times a day between them...

if they aired on 1 episode each there'd be more room for other shows and we'd all be happy.
