BARKER COMMITS, AS EXPECTED, TO 34TH "PRICE" SEASON
Bob Barker told an interviewer in 2001: "As long as I can come through these doors with a spring in my step, I'll be there."
Barker has agreed, as expected, to return for a 34th season as host of "The Price Is Right" on CBS.
The television legend, who began his video career in 1956 on "Truth or Consequences", is currently in the forth year of a five-year contract signed to take effect in the fall of 2001.
The deal gives Barker, now 81, the option of renewing on a year-to-year basis.
A number of industry insiders are eyeing closely whether the 2005-06 season will be Barker's last. That term will mark Barker's 50th consecutive year in television.
