I use to watch S&S all the time when I was younger, and I also have the first 5 seasons on DVD. And even though I have'nt watch them all, because of watching some of the great episodes over and over again. I was wondering, what ever happen to Julio? I don't remember any goodbye episode, if there ever was one. All I remember is Julio was there, and the next thing Fred and Lamont were trying to start Sanford Arms.

I think Julio's last episode was in Season 4, when he and Lamont tried a "Merger" between their two junk businesses and did the TV commercial in the junkyard. After that, he wasn't mentioned again until Season 5- The "Bank On This" episode. Lamont was telling the bank manager they wanted to get a loan to buy "The house next door that's recently become vacated." Fred said they'd need a $1500 loan, because "the previous tenant was a Puerto Rican named Julio, and it's gonna take that much to get all those chili stains off the wall . . ."

I know the actor who played Julio, Gregory Sierra, had taken a role on BARNEY MILLER as Lt. Chano that season. I guess that's why he left S&S.

Well let me explain the connection between the Sanford Arms and Julio. Julio had mentioned to Fred and Lamont that the junk business was too much for just one person and decided to move back to NYC. Julio made this statement early in season 4. So when Julio moved out, Fred and Lamont turned his home into the Sanford Arms after getting the loan from the bank.

I remember when they bought it Fred said he had to wear big shoes to stomp out all the roaches.

  One thing I always liked about Julio was that all Fred's insults just rolled off his back.

What's so funny is that Julio ended up getting some kind of commendation for keeping his property so nice - and Fred ended up getting cited.
